Brilliant!

Along with: "reframe your trauma about not being able to play in women's tournaments"

I'm sure I'll think of more

Can't remember the individuals involved, but at least one man in a women's sport said that the displaced women should just train harder.

I remember it being said (although I don't know who said it first). It was rapidly taken up by TRAs on Reddit and X.

It didn't age well for them!

Shout out to the amazing Dr Emma Hilton💚💜

A brave intelligent superstar, it must have been difficult to have her sex realist views in Academia (as Prof Kathleen Stock and Prof Jo Phoenix experienced)

An odd choice of insult from a group of males who spend their life either in pursuit of one or wishing they had one

NotAtMyAge · 09/04/2026 18:40

BusyAzureTraybake · 09/04/2026 18:23

Well he just needs to train harder then.

😂💪

He's 'worked so damned hard'

After watching that clip, I suggest he takes up acting instead.

Mmmnotsure · 09/04/2026 19:01

Hopefully this will feed into the climate and understanding re sex-affected sports [ie all sports] when the courts hear the Harriet Haynes/Blackball appeal - another man who can go play in the male category.

HoppityBun · 09/04/2026 19:04

What? Even if they wear a frock, grow their hair and put some slap on? Outrageous

Semanya Caster said that re the Rio 800m final. I think one of the weightlifters may also have said it.

FranticFrankie · 09/04/2026 19:08

Work damned harder then mate
The comments on reddit!!!!! Saying he's not a man😵‍💫

FranticFrankie · 09/04/2026 19:09

Sorry- correction ' not a male'

singthing · 09/04/2026 19:12

Lucky he had his script off to the side and didn't need to memorise his lines.

I do often wonder if there will be a name for this era when the world went a bit mad and forgot that males and females are different. Glad it’s starting to rectify itself.

SirChenjins · 09/04/2026 19:23

Well, that was a hard watch. So damned hard. I was hoping for a solitary tear to add to the pathos, but he couldn't quite squeeze it out.

Sad times.

EdithStourton · 09/04/2026 19:29

I tried to find my violin, but it was too small.

These blokes never have an iota of sympathy for the women they displace.

The Androzoic Era?

I’m so glad we’re getting more of our stuff back!

Not a bad write-up from the BBC!

I once actually threw 180, and count it amongst my finest achievements! I was good pool player too, but hated the way that men would muscle in to our games / matches any way they could and completely change the vibe, let alone try to dominate.

Happy to play with female players who say they identify as living in a masculine gendered style, though.

I won a match in the pub years ago by splitting the 11s. My opponents were 3 young men!

JellySaurus · 09/04/2026 19:52

Is it too much to ask for proper clarity from the national broadcaster? And most other media, for that matter. Probably is, but "transgender women" implies 'women who are transgender'. Because that's the way the English language works. Many people still understand "transgender women" to mean 'women who want to be/think they are men'.

lcakethereforeIam · 09/04/2026 19:54

I saw this article a few weeks ago

https://www.sportbible.com/darts/noa-lynn-van-leuven-transgender-player-banned-220090-20260317

In it he seems to take a different tone

"I knew it was coming but I didn’t know when or how. I didn’t even know when I was allowed to play anymore in the women’s game.
“I was like, what am I going to do with my career now? Am I just going to stick to the PDC or am I going to try other things?"
"I just didn’t know what to do. When the ruling came out, I was like, at least it was clear now."
And once she knew exactly what the next step was, Van Leuven found a new motivation and drive to prove she can be one of the best women in the sport.
It does motivate me to become a better player again," she added.

My bold. He seem to imply he was cruising in the women's game. Cheating bloke.

Transgender darts player Noa-Lynn van Leuven gives update on being banned from facing women

The 29-year-old has been excluded from competing in all WDF women's competitions.

Not a bad write-up from the BBC!

I'm hoping that there'll come a day when "transgender woman" will be replaced by "trans identifying male" in all news reports just so that there's no doubt at all as to the sex of the subject.
