The thing with terrorists is the twisted logic they have to surround themselves with to justify the criminal actions which they know may harm others.
In Jolyon's position he has possibly already justified harms to his own daughters to himself.
So really the possibility of harms to others wouldn't be as significant not as hard to justify to himself because he's already had such a significant shift in logical fallacy in order to explain his own opinions and actions.
To everyone else this just looks fucked in the head and like criminal behaviour.
It is entirely consistent with a cult and the demands of a cult where harms are overlooked or somehow justified in the name of a god. We know how far they can go in terms of their actions - they believe they are acting rationally and logically. But also we know there is no room for doubt and anyone who doubts is punished - sometimes physically - but definitely emotionally. This is about the extreme need to control the narrative within the group itself and not allow any critical thinking and questioning to begin. Why? Because this is a threat to the existence of the group and the power within the group.
It's time government started to see this as what it is. It's deeply unhealthy for those in the group and it's actively increasingly dangerous to those who are vulnerable within the group and to others outside the group.
