"A top transgender Reddit moderator has deleted his account after being exposed as a convicted child sex offender. Branden "Brynn" Dunleavy was a moderator at r/MTF, and was reportedly protected by the head of the moderation team."

The subreddit in question (r/MTF) seems a lovely place. It's always a good sign in a community when one of the pinned posts warns users about the importance of keeping their main account and porn account separate to keep "chasers and creeps out of our spaces". 🙄

Apparently one of the moderators of the yiff subreddit (if you don't know what yiff means, then be wary about googling it) is someone called cedarwolf.

It is genuinely scary that the top decision makers on a forum of tens of thousands of vulnerable people and children is a peadophile.

Especially as the forum connects questioning young people with people much older with no check on anyone's motives. I shudder to think what went on behind closed doors.

It's always the ones you most suspect, but once again, we're all hallucinating because this stuff never happens.

I haven't googled it, and dont want to, but I can guess what it is. What a shock that yet another reddit moderator is just a porn addicted male person made up of layers of fetishes. Totally a woman though, of course 🙄 seriously, there needs to be a serious investigation into reddit and its role in grooming minors. Some of the things I've seen are shocking, including providing hormones to children without their parents knowledge. God knows what else has gone on.

Well, I can’t speak for Genevieve Gluck, but you could say, in relation to kids, it means when they take all the confusions of puberty, body identity, developing sexual orientation, autism, anxiety, depression, trauma, combine that with social contagion and external influences of places like Reddit and decide it means they want to be the opposite sex.

Don't forget, cis women can be sex offenders too. The trans reddits always say so.

I wonder whether there’s any safeguarding training in these places? Like any at all? Because it’s safeguarding 101 that any place where DC hang out attracts predators. Anything that involves activity with DC, is targeted by predators.

That’s why the safeguarding processes are so stringent. Just applying for it suggests you’re more likely than average to be predatory. FFS.

This is why Reddit (and places like wikipedia) are such closed shops that encourage group think, permit the most awful behaviour and genuinely shape the wider, world wide discussion on things like this. Reddit comes up in the top 5 search results for almost anything. It's moving the Overton window on a staggering scale.

It’s telling how they’re all up in arms about this guy because he’s a Reddit mod, but you won’t find a word said about any of the many, many other trans sex offenders that make the news on a weekly basis.

Let’s not forget that a lot of the data that ChatGPT was initially trained on came from Reddit.

How many more does it have to be before people recognise the pattern? I recently read a tweet from a man who was raped by a trans-identified man as a child and there was an abusive TIM responding denying it all and saying he was a loser who had no friends as a child and that was why.

Is it legal to have a forum like the one mentioned? I find it weird that it may be. No checks and balances then by anyone? Sounds like a light web version of the dark web. Not that I agree with underground stuff but Reddit is out there freely or is this forum closed and private or something? That's even worse....
