Mass Shooting in Tumbler Ridge Canada

Looks like it was a man in a dress. Another tragedy. More lives lost. Boys with violent tendencies cannot be told they are actually girls. The violent background of trans activism is a problem.

BREAKING

The identity of the Tumbler Ridge shooter can now be confirmed as Jesse “Jess” Strang.

Strang is a biological male who started to “identify” as a "girl" around 2023.

Strang was raised in a family that valued hunting, and began learning how to shoot rifles when he was just a child. Many guns were kept in the family's residence.

Facebook posts from his mother indicate he may have struggled with behavioral issues, including violent tendencies, from a very young age.

Strang fatally shot 10 people prior to taking his own life.

In 2021, Strang launched a YouTube channel that was promoted by his mother on her Facebook. The channel was dedicated to "hunting, self-reliance, guns" and his other interests. At some point, Strang deleted the content on the channel and changed his handle from "Jesse Boy" to "JessJessUwU." The only remaining post on the channel was made 6 months ago and reads "I've been pretty, um, aimless."

I worry that leftwing misogynists would come for abortion rights if they thought it would help them. They don't believe in abortion rights for women from an ethical standpoint. They only believe in them so far as they can use them as leverage.

This is obvious because left wing misogynists tend to mention abortion only as a threat eg "look what rights you'll lose if you don't acquiesce to us".

If it seems inconceivable, just consider how "free speech" is now often framed as a right wing concern. Consider how leftwing misogynists can campaign for single sex toilets in India whilst campaigning to abolish them in the West. Or consider the chilling push to reframe fgm because condemning it upsets some men.

When it comes down to it, misogynists both right and left are going to always put men first. Whatever that takes.

Absolutely, but I don’t believe an erroneous early report in a news report will stop accurate statistic-gathering by the Canadian authorities. It wouldn’t be marked as a female crime.

I'm pretty sure it will - by law - be recorded as a female crime in Canada. Any man who says he's a woman is literally a woman over there. In law. Even the male teacher who wore size Z prosthetic breasts to work in a school, then reverted to bloke once he was at home.

It would probably be a crime to record it accurately. (I note they seem to have no problem recording the victims by their sex not gender though).

I think their ‘contribution’ to reproductive rights would be to create an environment in which women are paid or emotionally pressured to be surrogates and to give up their anatomy for experiments to further the ‘female reproductive abilities’ of biological men etc - plus a heavy emphasis on egg donation to make the dreams of gay couples come true and so on.

Canada has self id. According to Canada's laws, it is a female crime. "Female" in Canada means something other than body sex now.

So why would they record it as a male crime when neither their law nor their society would officially consider this person as male? From the Canadian perspective (not that of the people necessarily but of the officialdom) he is no more a male than he is a teapot or an orange. It's simply not a word that applies to him.

What have you based that on?

In Canada legislation has been added such that female means "some women and some men".

The Canadian police used female words to detail his crimes.

If he had lived he would have been (likely) placed in a Womans Prison as his gender identy placed over recognising his sex.

Why do you think the State would not recorded him under their label "female - some women and some men"?

Agreed. Women in the US have a difficult and awful situation.

Yet note even there is a lot of sexist nonsense on the Republican side that a lot of MAGA women are very outspoken, with power and far from traditional. Longterm past Trump the US right are going to be moving in different directions hopefully better ones.

The point is to give women agency and over time steps forward will be made. If you let women SPEAK then you get a better society.

Not perfect, but better. Women get the chance to have agency, to make choices both good and bad.

I think American women were often very much more assertive and demanding of rights than European women. If they survived at all as pioneers they were holding their own very often. They also were not expected to have dowries ( even in the U.K. middle class men often looked for money or titles).

I'm perfectly happy to condemn bad treatment of women, whoever does it. However we were talking about trump and you don't seem to want to accept that he's a nightmare for women.

I think Trump is a horrible, misogynistic creep, but I think the left/Democrats are worse for attacking women's rights in the US.

Slothtoes · 13/02/2026 14:11

Trump’s attacking literally everyone in the world with denying climate change and harassing and rounding up anyone who isn’t white via ICE though.

There’s misogyny all over the place in politics I absolutely grant you but Trump is the lowest of the low.

God there's a thought. I wonder how the pro surrogacy type of left wing misogynist would react to a surrogate mother deciding to abort her pregnancy?

Even in the UK sex is misreported in many situations because there is no mechanism for recording actual sex if somebody has declared themself to be the opposite sex.

True
The UK crime stats would be wrong in this regard.

The local police are the primary source
The male says he is female
Policy says to accept the male at his word and code that under the data input called "Sex"
The officer clicks the F on the screen with no box for gender and codes in the crime
That is bundled into the ONS reporting data etc.

This is highlighted in the Scottish prison transport case where the Scottish Prision Service record males as female and may record females as male.

3oldladiesstuckinalavatory · 11/02/2026 15:58

Exactly right. Except, I would correct one thing. If the suspected murderer is this 17 year old, he was a child. He was a 17 year old BOY.

I'm not excusing his alleged crimes, but children need safeguarding and he was a child. Did someone tell an unstable 15 year old with a history of gun use, that he was a girl? If so, who? And, why?

This gender confusion doesn't come out of nowhere. Adults need to step up and take a share of responsibility for this and for every single time a trans identified child harms themself, or someone else.

He is 18. He's a man. A male.

I won't use trans ideology language. He's not any type of woman. He's not "trans identified" - he's a man with a delusion . It's because we've all been cowed into complying with this stupidity that it's reached the point where society is cutting healthy breasts off and allowing grown arse men to beat women up in the Olympics.

Maybe, just maybe, if we all started insisting on reality, this mass delusion that's been forced on society, through intimidation through threat of societal shaming, would lose it's throttle hold on all our throats.

He's a man. A man wearing woman face. A man who has been affirmed in his mental health delusions. A man in active psychosis (psychosis is a loss of contact with reality, inability to determine the difference between reality and delusion) A man pretending to be what he is not and demanding conformity with his delusions.

It's simple - He's a man.

In Australia via abc.net.aus. news the readers were still being lied to 4 hours ago.
https://www.abc.net.au/news/2026-02-14/tumbler-ridge-school-mass-shooting-victims-named/106343974

It is not only the misrepresentation of the sex of the shooter that is wrong here, but the misrepresentation ( by omission) of how leaving a teen’s mental turmoil untreated while apparently, but falsely, solving their problems with trans gender affirmation and drugs , plays even greater havoc with their minds.

Nine people killed in Canada mass shooting identified

Six children and two adults were killed in the shooting in the remote Canadian town of Tumbler Ridge on Tuesday.

Is there any evidence of a backlash in Canada since the shooting. This was a small town with a few thousand residents so everyone must know him and his history. Any chance of it breaking the silence/forcing a debate.

There was a mention of a local politician linking the gender dysphoria to the shooting in the Guardian, and a swift dismissal:
After an independent provincial legislator in British Columbia claimed, without evidence, that the shooting rampage was related to the suspect’s gender identity, campaigners and gun violence experts warned against generalising an entire demographic based on the actions of one person.
In the US, the Gun Violence Archive has said less than 0.1% of mass shootings between 2013 and 2025 were carried out by transgender people.
Instead, research suggests that transgender people are more than four times more likely to be the victims of crimes, including sexual and aggravated assault, than cisgender people.

  • Uniform Crime Reporting (UCR): The UCR survey, used for official police-reported crime statistics, now allows police to record gender identity (man, woman, or non-binary). This means the data can reflect how a person identifies and presents, rather than just their sex assigned at birth.
Delphinium20 · 13/02/2026 19:05

.1% is an awfully large number of violent offers of such a small group.

Statistically if you don't want to be murdered, be transgender. In the UK 3 men a week are murdered, 2 women a week are murdered and 1 trans person is murdered every 7 years.

Interesting that the US statistics for mass shootings needs to stretch back to 2013 (before trans become fashionable). Statistically I believe that 100% of Canadian mass shootings in 2026 have been carried out by a trans person.

In Canada?

Or is this one of the reports that includes South Americans working in the sex industry?

It looks like social services, teachers at the school he was in, the local police, psychiatric services, his mother and his absent father, all buried their head in the sand and failed this young teenage boy completely.

The image emerging is of a deeply troubled young man.

He had no contact with his biological father all his life and his mother moved around Canada like a nomad from the time he was 2 until he was 7 when his father took her to court to try to gain access to his son.

He started identifying as the opposite sex about 6 years ago aged just 11 or 12 and dropped out of school at 14...

Locals rarely saw him but did know his four siblings/half-siblings.

The police were called to his home on several occasions due to mental health issues involving him, including at least one instance where he was apprehended under the Mental Health Act for assessment.

Law enforcement seized guns/rifles from his home two years ago but his mother applied to get them back despite his ongoing mental health issues...
(Who on earth gives a gun/rifle to a mentally ill teenage boy other than an equally mentally ill mother who should have been barred from owning a gun too).

He was on Reddit MtF aged just 15 asking for advice from other mentally ill men who think you can change sex at will - this is a form of child abuse imho for which the platform should be pursued.

Later he began viewing online videos of people being tortured and beheaded...

His account with Roblox was closed after the mass shooting as other users signaled that he had created a game that simulated a shopping mall massacre...

Meanwhile, instead of having him sectioned for his own safety (and that of others), his mother went on a rant on Instagram two years ago telling everyone else to "be kind" to trans people like her son...

He was taking prescription medication and was also able to source various illegal drugs (presumably on-line) despite rarely leaving home and his mother apparently never suspected anything...

So many red flags and all studiously ignored for fear of being called transphobic.

Where else has that behaviour happened?
Oh yes, the grooming gangs - only that time it was for fear of being called racist.

This shooting aside, this is a reminder to me why I don’t let DS play Roblox. That’s terrifying.

Not every person or teen who commits a horrific act has been ‘failed’.

It looks like in this case all the parties you mention were doing ‘something’, but were at odds with each other, with each party being seen as the other to be unhelpful and pulling in different directions, resulting in a kind of stalemate.

The police attended the address, and took the guns away. His mother then applied to get them back. His mother clearly thought he needed ‘kindness’ which she thought wasn’t being extended to him. I assume she supported his ‘transition’, believing this was the right thing to do.

Remember, charities like Mermaids (not that I’m saying she had any contact with them, but I’m giving examples of the wider arena) urge parents to accommodate their child’s change of gender, saying if they don’t then the child is at high risk of suicide. Sadly that’s exactly what’s happened regardless, after he murdered everyone else.

How many posts do we see on here from parents of school refusing, mentally ill children who are despairing but against all advice are ‘kind’ and accommodating to the child as they’re convinced pushing back will cause them to commit suicide?

What I’m saying is that nobody ‘failed’ this boy. He was hugely disturbed and it seems each party around him were taking some kind of action, but each were caught in a net due to the dangerous obfuscation of ‘gender identity’. If anything it is they who were failed. The police should’ve been able to permanently confiscate the guns. His mother shouldn’t have been urged to accommodate his mental illness. The internet shouldn’t HAVE such sick videos viewable at the click of a button.

Our sick society is producing sick people.
