I couldn’t see a thread here for this.

It’s already at over 30k signatures. Aim is to get it to 100k.

Very interesting: looking at the map, the hot spots cover all parties - Labour, Conservative, Lib Dem and even Green. This is clearly a bipartisan issue.

ItsAllGoingToBeFine · 11/01/2026 21:22

Pretty sure Elon Musk retweeted JKRs tweet which will have given it a push too

user38 · 11/01/2026 21:46

It’s now going at about a signature per second

It is a thing of beauty to watch.

The government needs to know that their planned trial is not in my name. It is not in the name of ethics. It is not in the name of progress.

It is in the name of Mengele.

WeMeetInFairIthilien · 11/01/2026 21:55

Just breached 90,000

Seainasive · 11/01/2026 22:14

1000 signatures in the last 15 minutes!

Daytimetellyqueen · 11/01/2026 22:26

I signed it earlier - really hope it continues to gain more & more traction.

92,560 signatures, 80 of those in my super woke constituency.

NotAtMyAge · 11/01/2026 22:47

I'm enjoying seeing the whole country gradually changing colour.

NotAtMyAge · 11/01/2026 22:54

93,000. It's no good, I have to go to bed. It will be over the 100,000 well before morning.

Haulage · 11/01/2026 23:19

over 94k. I wonder if it’ll pass 100,000 before midnight

F1rstDoNoHarm · 11/01/2026 23:23

I bet it will :)

I think it’ll be in the morning, so good to wake up to.

But 95,000 by midnight, which is amazing.

Your (soon to be regular) reminder, that in the YouGov Survey conducted last Dec (prior to many of the events this year), just ELEVEN % of the general public though puberty blockers should be available to under 16 year olds. Not only that but SEVENTY FIVE % give a hard no to puberty blockers to understand 16s.

The column in grey is the figures for May 2022. The figures in bold the figures for Dec 2024. Look how they'd shifted by that point.

There is absolutely no way the government will not cave if this gets a lot of publicity. It is just not politically feasible to give the trial the green light whilst it's being watched for. Not with those public opinion figures.

It just will not happen.

Watch for the climb down/denial/backtrack/rethink whatever you want to call it. It's coming.

The government's position is untenable. Streeting's stance on this is untenable.

Political storm blowing in.

@RedToothBrush I'm looking forward to the next annual YouGov results, (which I think are due next month?)

RedToothBrush · 12/01/2026 00:19

So who does support transing kids?

The grey column again is 2022. Bold is overall average 2025.

Then there's a breakdown into three parts:

The first group in this section of data is for people who have family members, friends and colleagues who are trans, the second is for family members and friends only and the third for people who don't know transpeople.

Look at who is driving medicalisation. How can you get unbiased results from this when the parents are almost certainly unequivocally biased in favour of medicalisation before you even start?! Those who allow their kids to go on it are even more self selecting.

It's unfathomable in terms of ethics and predetermined biases.
