Welcome one and all - as the nights draw in, pull up a chair to the fire, and the gerbils will be along soon with hot chocolate and Tunnock’s teacakes.

Perfect! Travis was already mostly Borg anyway, of course.

Britinme · 05/09/2025 20:49

Oooh thank you Boily - that borg armour goes so well with my colouring!

JanesLittleGirl · 05/09/2025 21:05

So I had a couple of G&Ts on the train. DH has had a 'hard week' (actually had to meet some deadlines) so we picked up donners from the chippy and went straight to the pub. I am now into the back end of a bottle of white Burgundy and I am trying to explain this thread to our friends. I don't understand it and all that I have done is convince them that townies are fucking mad.

<Nicks a chunk of doner meat whilst Jane's back is turned>

Mmmm, mmm mmmmm.

I don't think anyone understands it.

But I think the main one word distillation of the threads is "gerbils"

Even mnhq recently said...

"From your lips to the gerbil goddess's ears..."

Boiledbeetle · 05/09/2025 21:26

I let CoPilot depict itself as borg.

I think it's part beetle, part capybara from it's waffling.

When I was a kid I wanted to be Buford T Justice when I grew up. In our neck of the woods, we thought Smokey and the Bandit was a documentary.

Boiledbeetle · 05/09/2025 21:35

Imagine what the Bluestocking threads will do to the next data scrape of FWR.

The constant gerbil references will confuse the absolute fuck out of them.

SionnachRuadh · 05/09/2025 21:38

Of course those were the days when CB radio was social media, and Jimmy Carter would address the nation by saying "What's your 20, good buddy?"

Remember that song 'Convoy' - 'breaker 1-9 this here's the Rubber Duck'.?

The convoy included 'Eleven longhaired friends of Jesus in a chartreuse microbus'😄

Extra apologies but the er cyborg fish I brought in by posting in the wrong thread is Mark Rowley commissioner of the Met. My username for that Glinner thread is short for "a fish doesn't know it's in water", based on his defence of the arrest. You may wish to remove him...sorry again! Got the back to school lurgy, doh.

I'll just get my fishing rod.

Back in a few.

Sorted.

Caught him, released him into the wild.

He's now literally swimming with the fishes.

Having a fish as police chief isn't that bad an idea. There have been worse human police chiefs.

I suppose the UK could learn some lessons from the lemur-controlled government of Madagascar.

And if we are following the tiger tokens scheme you will need to assimilate 12 large planets to get six matching mugs.

That seems a bit on the stingy side. How long might it take to assimilate 12 large planets?

About as long as it took to collect enough Tiger tokens to get 6 mugs!

I worked at the garage for three years. I think i managed to get 6 mugs in that time. Admittedly I was hampered by not having a car for 2 and a half of them, but not everyone wanted their Tiger tokens.
