I heard a touch of American on a few words, and her accent has probably flattened out a bit from being in Australia. Become a bit more like us but clearly Scottish to my ears.

Huxley did a bit of territory claiming by asking them to wait until he was in place before the middle judge started his 45 mins allowed. Of course she’d told him that he had 45 mins straight away. She said something about there being no trapdoor underneath him that would open up at 45 mins. She seemed annoyed.

Huxley tearing apart things word by word. He’s normally in corporate and constitutional law where I guess that’s the usual way of doing things.

Yes southern accents tend to be a bit softer and less clipped, in fact different counties have different accents eg Cork is a bit drawly with a bit of an uplift at the end of the sentence, Irish people can nearly always tell which county you're from by the accent

He's extremely frustrating to listen to. Too many references and too slow to make his point. It's hard to follow the direction of his argument. I wish she had got someone more dynamic to represent her

I think it is really important that the Judges are very critical of the evidence and language used from Giggles so it can't be demonstrated if there was a ruling in their favour of bias.

The same think happened in the Mushroom case earlier this year. The judge was very testy with the prosecution so it made the conviction as safe as possible.

Did he represent Sall in the first hearing ?

Yes he is a bit hard to listen to but I think I there are two things to remember. One, he is largely responding to the others’ submissions so thinking on his feet rather than presenting a prepared argument. Two, he’s very highly qualified and high profile. Was previously the President of the NSW Bar Council. Yes he’s not entertaining but I’d wager the judges are used to his style of argument and respect it.
