I wonder how many more of such actions will be launched. To adapt Jimmy Doyle’s phrase, “the spectacle of this nation’s [lanyard classes] enforcing moral auto-lobotomy as a condition of entry to [employment]”.

A prison custody officer who was sacked for saying he would not address male-born transgender inmates as ‘she’ or ‘her’ has launched legal action against one of the UK’s largest security firms.
Army veteran David Toshack, 50, was dismissed by GEOAmey during a training course only days before taking up a role as a prison custody officer (PCO) at Kirkcaldy Sheriff Court.
The father of three told a safeguarding workshop that he would not be comfortable using a transgender inmates’ preferred gender pronouns and expressed his belief that a man could not become a woman.
It sparked a horrified reaction from bosses at the firm, which employs thousands of justice workers across the UK, who said his views were against the law and company policy.

He said: ‘I’m just a normal, working class person who’s never been in trouble with the law before, not got a criminal record, lived a good life. I’ve been prepared to go and fight and die for my country, and then I have come back here and been told that there’s certain things you can’t think or can’t say.’

From TT

taking the award away from biological women, blows my mind
DH - now a DailyMail article, about model of the year award
DT - same thing denying biological women awards and giving them to men
DH - trenchant terms, thinking about excuses for why you advocated sterilising children

Tunnocksmilkchocolatemallow · 28/01/2026 11:26

‘And now you posted an article from a right of centre mainstream newspaper’

MyrtleLion · 28/01/2026 11:26

DH - is this about puberty blockers
DT - yes
DH - did you compose yourself
DT - my text, but picture taken from another platform
DH - image of EO by President Trump, did you create
DT - I typed the text at the top, but the rest was cut and pasted from another platform

‘And now you posted an article from a right of centre mainstream newspaper’

Didn't you know that only articles from the pro-trans Guardian are acceptable?

AuntieMsDamsonCrumble · 28/01/2026 11:28

It'll be interesting to see how (if) the media report this. He is being very straightforward and unequivocal in his answers. I wonder what slant the BBC will put on it?

The barrister is doing a good job too - he is leaving very little for the Rs barrister to get his teeth into as a "Gotcha".

HamSandwichIrnBru · 28/01/2026 11:28

I know I shouldn't keep interrupting, but DT dropping truth bombs is too good not to comment! I hope there are journalists in the court room...

weegielass · 28/01/2026 11:29

This is why, whilst I work for a GC organisation, I don't post anything about my beliefs on my own socials and have them locked down. There are lots of horrible people who police what you should think or say.

MyrtleLion · 28/01/2026 11:29

DH - image with text, and text above it, 'not saying Labour are the party of pedophiles......' did you compose this
DT - it was a repost from X
DH - what was your purpose in this post
DT - Raj Miah, has been campaigning against grooming gangs for years, its been going on in

Labour controlled areas for years, that's why I put the mocking language on it
DH - an image of Mark Zuckerberg, altered to give his eyes a certain appearance, did you create
DT - no, taken from X
DH - what was your purpose in posting this
DT - after Trump got in, I watched

The DM and Telegraph being quoted will probably give them an incentive! 😂

Do interrupt! Otherwise I think I'm pasting into a void...

I love the commentary.

3 hour interview with Zuckerberg, he openly admitted that they were told to censor and did, also Trump ending DEI initiatives, I think DEI is a bad thing.
DH - another report, post from Sandie Peggie tribunal, your comments are emojis, what was your purpose in posting this

I am completely anonymous on X and have a username I don't use anywhere else. For this reason.

And thanks @MyrtleLion as always!

DT - all the pictures of this man, pretending to be a woman, all soft focus, I thought people needed to see that he was a man
DH - here a reposting from Daily Telegraph, soldiers prescribed weight loss jabs, what is the connection to gender identity
DT - it's got nothing to do

with gender.
DH - another repost from X, in respect of certain decision made by US SecDef about Pride celebrations, your observations on that, now what was your purpose in posting
DT - I agree with him, we don't need a Pride month, there's no rights that gay people don't have

MyrtleLion · 28/01/2026 11:34

Going to make more tea.

Mmmnotsure · 28/01/2026 11:34

MyrtleLion · 28/01/2026 11:18

That would be indefensible, surely?! 😂

No. Don't worry. Casting aspersions on paedophiles is fine as far as we know.

You just mustn't be untoward about them.

FranticFrankie · 28/01/2026 11:35

DT coming across as straight to the point

Thanks ML 🦁

Oh good!

It's so encouraging to see a man with a backbone speaking the truth that so many people are afraid to. His words shouldn't seem extraordinary, but they do!

DrSpartacularsMagnificentOctopus · 28/01/2026 11:36

Thanks Myrtle Brew Cake

DT is coming over very credible.

wantmorenow · 28/01/2026 11:38

It will be interesting to see the reporting on mainstream media (or not) about this. This chap seems very comfortable in saying the "non crime hate speech" that has got so many women in trouble and arrested.

MyrtleLion · 28/01/2026 11:39

From TT

gay commentators I follow agree with me, there's no need for that.
DH - final post, you sharing an article from ITV News, you offer comments above, this again appears to be about participation of certain people in certain sporting categories
DT - yes

DH - looking at some of these posts, you've said that you don't have ill will to transgender people, but it might said that you do have ill will, what do you say
DT - some of my language may have been industrial, people may have their beliefs, but they can't force them on me

DT - some of the mocking and language is the dark humour that you get from the military and medical fields. I've never offered verbal or physical abuse, a lot of the men who have been in these posts I may have some animus to them it may be a sexual fetish, and there are some

in sports who are taking women's places and awards. I don't have personal animus to any person.
DH - I'm changing subject, Judge will we have a mid-morning break
J - I think we've had it, we could always break a little early for lunch.
DH - yes

Mmmnotsure · 28/01/2026 11:39

It’s like greatest hits. JKR, fetishists, moral cowardice to go along with it, can’t be born in the wrong body, women’s sport, lesbians being forced to accept men into their spaces, paedophiles, danger to women, unfair.

He has a trans daughter.

He is actually trying to protect his daughter's rights, although she will not see that. It is so very sad that this ideology has wrecked yet another family.

HamSandwichIrnBru · 28/01/2026 11:40

Given all the prison scandals over the last few years, I feel as though this man has the appropriate no-nonsense attitude that would be of benefit in that type of job. It makes me wonder about the calibre of the cowards candidates that they employ.

MyrtleLion · 28/01/2026 11:41

They haven't had a mid-morning break.
