The Bonnie Blue/ Lily Philips discourse has highlighted that it’s still perfectly acceptable, even applauded, to refer to women as “sluts”, “whores” etc. It is also acceptable to witch hunt them for being “bad”, I.e. liking sex.

I’m no fan of these women or their industry, but I do still think we should be calling out the misogyny towards them, right?

I think that there are two entirely separate issues here.

Do some men, quite possibly utter hypocrites who spend half their time masturbating and half their time cheating, refer to women in the porn industry in the most disgusting, old-fashioned, misogynistic way? Yes.

Do some people, often women, understand that the likes of Bonnie Blue and Lily Philips are simultaneously victims of misogyny and the patriarchy, and of ridiculous ultra-liberal feminism, but that their behaviour is itself misogynistic as it denigrates themselves as women, and all other women? Yes

Yes, the misogyny and anger towards them is wrong, of course it is. These women are incredibly damaged and in need of intervention and help.

I'm not sure anyone is applauding or lauding the misogyny, are they? Only arseholes.

I do think they are damaged. In all honesty I sort of assume one/ both will have a breakdown at some point and an untimely death.

I watched a YouTube video about this yesterday. The twins (men) were talking them down but didn't use that sort of language. They used words like evil and Satan which I thought was a bit OTT but honestly, the way these women are behaving is shocking. The twins also called out the men who took part and criticised their behaviour too.

I watched the video of them both and the way the guys were grabbing their heads ramming it down their throats, there was a ' this is what good girls do ' comment from one lovely gent as he grabbed her head.

I feel sick thinking about men like this. This is what bothers me more. The focus is of course on the two women perpetuating it. But I can't hold them responsible. These men choose to go do this right after the last one did his business.

I feel the younger girl is more messed up, more in touch with feelings and therefore going to suffer alot. She's to me a victim and I don't like this.

Bonnie is to me- I'm no professional of course - is something of a sociopath. So I wonder how easily she can exploit this and create a huge amount of money and feel nothing but gratification in the receipt of money. Her reactions, her blink, everything about her says sociopathic. On a personal level she really doesn't seem to care at all about the misogyny. She perpetuates it with her comments about women not pleasing their husbands. But again - these men can choose not to buy into this. So it's on them again.

I get more incensed that we don't have more discussion and spotlight on the men. They're always anonymous I believe so harder to do.

I don’t think they’re women who ‘like sex’ - I think they’re actively engaging in sexual self harm for clicks and £££’s. I judge the men involved and pity the women.

They were not enjoying any of it from what I saw. Choking, gagging, being rammed, semen in eyes and pretending very obviously to ' just love it'.

It's all about the money. One seemingly able to detach much easier than the other girl and exploits that financially with support from mother.

That is horrific how it isn't classed as Sexual assault /rape is beyond me !

I agree with this totally. The women are slut shamed but there's little mention of the repulsive men queueing up to take their turn. Any comment around them is generally a "yes, they are disgusting too - but..."

You can’t blame it all on the men. Bonnie Blue is motivated by money. How else can she earn vast sums of money for doing very little?

Unfortunately we seem to be in an era of two idiotic and damaging ideologies around sex. One being the "don't kink shame, sex work is work" crap and the other being the old fashioned misogynistic BS that women who like sex are sluts.

I actually think Bonnie Blue has, in some ways, been helpful in shining a light on the flaws in the "don't kink shame" ideology. Anyone with half a brain can see that what's happening here is wrong and yet the sex positive people have no way of articulating it.

I find it so frustrating how few people can get their heads around the idea that sexual empowerment for women means a) actually enjoying it and b) not making themselves vulnerable while doing it.

I think they are both deeply damaged, playing out their damage and damaging other women’s lives by perpetuating deep misogyny but that is very common for damaged people to do.

It's so clear these women are damaged you can see the trauma from outer space just reading a headline.

It is the same old same old, women prostituting themselves, be it page three or hard core porn, until they do not have to anymore.

They are high up on the porn food chain i feel more sorry for the lower down, the trafficked and the like.

I always remember the prostitutes collective of Great Britain (i may have got their name wrong) getting annoyed with women who challenged them, saying things like you don't keep your husband satisfied, so its your fault.

I once admitted two prostitutes to a refuge temporarily as fleeing from a pimp.

I'm not in BB's league. I was however slightly promiscuous when younger. I often wonder what I was doing and why. I recall feeling like I was ' special ' one time when I had ' fun' with 2 guys. I actually felt that they held me up as this really cool out there gal to be so open minded to this sexual experience. I really felt that sadly.

It seems like the girl Lily is somewhat like this. Seeking approval and validation from guys who say things like ' wow, you're such a good girl'. 🤮 So it's a double reward; the fame and fortune and the illusion that men think wow this girl is amazing.

BBlue actually scares me tbh. I receive her very differently. She does not feel on a level to many of us and looks dead behind the eyes. To have a mum behind this too tells me her mum is not right. So between them, pretty dangerous. Because BB can compartmentalise i would guess in return for the riches. And will therefore attract the most degrading men to perform the most degrading things and be live streamed. Then impressionable brains see it and think it's bloody normal.

We really are plumbing the depths of depravity here aren't we. At least the law now says you cannot consent to actual bodily harm (well done to the brilliant women behind We Can't Consent to This) so if anything like that happens I hope the men get the book thrown at them.

It's not only men who fall into the first category though. Plenty of slut shaming comes from women.

Their choices damage other women, we should be able to point that out. Calling this “Slut shaming” Is just another label people use to try to prevent discussion (like “transphobia”). I don’t care if they like sex (although this seems to be something else). I do care if they encourage men to think women like to be abused. I think they are at fault (as are the seedy men involved).
