Have a listen to this BBC OS radio interview on the ban on men in womens sport. They are absolutely glorious to listen to - had the interviewer Mark Löwen tied up in knots and challenged his words beautifully.
From 26 minutes in.

Mind your blood pressure listening to this. That guy is something else!

borntobequiet · 06/05/2025 08:51

They were great, as ever. The interviewer a bit clueless, as so often. He should understand better now, though.

RaininSummer · 06/05/2025 08:54

That was great. Thanks for posting.

LadyBracknellsHandbagg · 06/05/2025 08:55

What a mewling little apologist he is, absolutely pathetic, they made mincemeat out of him.

The TW contributors whining about their ‘identitee’ and ‘safetee’ saying ‘I can’t play football anymore’ yes you can mate, you can play with the men, where you belong. So sick of hearing this shit.

Helleofabore · 06/05/2025 08:59

They really did push back with absolute clarity. So many excellent points raised.

I mean, the presenter tried to run it by the BBC guidelines but they also were very clear how misogynistic those guidelines are. Imagine the constant centring of those male people as the BBC has done.

Thank you Sharron and Mara.

matresense · 06/05/2025 09:00

Amazing! Well done Sharon and Mara.

This, from Dennis Kavanagh:
Hello and welcome to the a neutral BBC show in which we discuss "Are terfs complete scum?". In this episode, we'll begin crossing live to a terribly sad transvestite (TST) who cannot play in women's sport because of evil terfs. I began with the question "are terfs evil?"
2/ TST: "Yes"

BBC Drone "How evil would you say they are?"

TST: "Very"

BBC Drone: "For balance, some of the evil terfs say women have higher injury risk when massive blokes calling themselves "Barbara" play sport, is there an epidemic of transphobia?"

TST: "Yes"
3/

BBC Drone: "Well, there you have it. A compelling and, some reasonable people might say disgusting display of hatred by evil terfs. For balance we will now cross to a drag Queen"

Drag Queen: "Hi"

BBC Drone: "How evil are terfs in your view?"

Drag Queen: "Very"
4/

BBC Drone: "There are, unfortunately, some awful terfy women who haven't apologised for the Supreme Court Judgment yet. We are joined by Sharron Davies MBE now who has been particularly unapologetic. Sharron, let me start with a neutral question, how do you sleep at night?"
5/

Sharron: "Pretty well thanks now that woman don't suffer increased injury risk and have a chance at the tiny percentage of money that goes to female sports"

BBC Drone: "Can I ask you to stop being so toxic please. Do you not realise how sad that transvestite was?"
6/

Sharron: "I just don't care. Women are entitled to sports."

BBC Drone: "Can I just pause you for a moment please and ask you stop ranting. I just said a transvestite we found is really sad. Have you no heart?"

Sharron: "I'd like to talk about women"
7/

BBC Drone: "Could I ask you to dial down the toxic transphobia for a second please. Do you not understand that not only was a transvestite sad, we also found a drag queen who is also sad"

Sharron: "Nothing can counter male advantage in sport. This is about fairness"
8/

BBC Drone: "Are you not even going to apologise for the Supreme Court or behave like a proper woman and care about sad men?"

Sharron: "Can we talk maybe about polling athletes which the FA failed to do?"

BBC Drone: "Excuse me, are you hard of hearing?"

Sharron: "Eh?"
9/

BBC Drone: "I just told you a transvestite was really sad and you seem to want to talk about fairness in women's sports for some reason"

Sharron: "Yeah that's right"

BBC Drone: "So what you are saying is that you are you are basically Hitler then?"

Sharron: "Excuse me?"
10/ We end this report with a confirmation that at no point have any of the women we interviewed apologised for their views or the fact that transvestites are sad. Speaking neutrally, it seems this toxic debate fuelled by evil terfs like unrepentant Sharron just will run and run.
11/ Thank you. And now for the thought for the day which is presented by a drag queen followed by antiques road show also featuring drag queens and then a legal discussion "are terfs evil or just mad?".

Haven't heard the interview but I assume this is connected. https://threadreaderapp.com/thread/1919482434132881636.html?utm_campaign=topunroll

That's funny. And actually highly relevant

Literally just read this and came on here to post. Too funny - and painfully spot on.

MassiveWordSalad · 06/05/2025 12:06

Thank you so much Mara and Sharron, absolute warriors. And thanks to Dennis Kavanagh too 😁

dubaichocolate · 06/05/2025 12:24

They were fabulous! And Dennis is bang on. I don’t understand but why were Sharron and Mara challenged yet Jessica wasn’t, when they claimed they couldn’t play football anymore? They even said themselves they could play in the men’s, so they were contradicting their own words. I mean I know why, but still.

That is hilarious, Dennis completely nails it.

SirChenjins · 06/05/2025 12:46

Absolutely brilliant interview - they systematically dismantled every single one of the spurious claims made by the TWs and demolished the interviewer who (predictably) insisted on centring males and their 'needs'. Great stuff.

BingoWindow · 06/05/2025 12:53

That was amazing Sharron and Mara. Exceedingly well prepped, well argued, on topic. I am in awe, humbled and ridiculously proud.
As for the interviewer.....must try harder....

Pogmochluais · 06/05/2025 12:56

I absolutely exploded when both woman carefully explained that they had spent the day after the ruling doing interviews being constantly asked to focus on how men might feel now about being fully excluded from women’s sport. The very next question, the very next question was how would men feel being excluded from women’s sport. He didn’t even leave a gap but thankfully they caught him up in his own bullshit making him explain he meant males and the annihilated him and his idiocy.

NeverOneBiscuit · 06/05/2025 13:21

Two amazing, well informed women able to debate with facts, as opposed to a pathetic BBC kindness clone who wanted to centre the men in skirts.

I loved the clarification that the presenters use of transwoman & she were actually references to males. 💪

MeltonInTheHeat · 06/05/2025 13:24

I usually can;t cope with listening to these things as my blood pressures goes nuts. But the absolute sorrow in Mark Lowens voice when he asks why the mean nasty women can't think of how sad the men are.

It's like Indiana Jones and The Temple of Doom- where all the kids are under this spell they then wake up from. How do these people advocating so hard for men to destroy women's sports / safe places/ refuges/ prisons/ etc etc etc not realise they have been put under some sort of mind-altering spell? When will they wake up from it?

SternJoyousBee · 06/05/2025 14:34

Loved that Sharron pushed back so forcibly when he tried his “why won’t you think of the poor menz” spiel. Especially straight after explaining that they are constantly being asked about men’s feelings and never about the women and girls. And Mara making the point about the language and being absolutely clear that transwomen are men.

Lottapianos · 06/05/2025 14:44

What a great listen that was. They're clearly both sick to death of this shit and I don't blame them. The interviewer was ridiculous and didn't seem to listen to a word they were saying

Greyskybluesky · 06/05/2025 15:01

Wow, amazing 😍
Both of them were absolutely outstanding.

Thanks for the link OP

Ereshkigalangcleg · 06/05/2025 15:25

I listened to the full interview with “Jessica” as well, it’s everything you can imagine. TRA bingo.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 06/05/2025 15:25

Sharron and Mara were 🔥

Endthisshit · 06/05/2025 15:28

Thank you thank you for this, absolutely blooming brilliant, love the way Mara keeps raising that the law was always based on biological sex and the way they both repeat how men’s feelings are always talked about but women’s never are, some of the men interviewed are just pathetic. Lovely to hear both Mara and Sharron fantastic Warrior Queens!

Cailleach1 · 06/05/2025 16:27

Sharon and Mara were magnificent, and didn’t take any of the manipulative, coercive crap the presenter was trying to damn them (and all women who push back on all this abusive gaslighting) with.

‘Oh, but these cheating man want to unfairly compete in the women’s category. And, they’re men who want to ‘play’ (in more ways than one), so they are the important ones. Who on earth gives a shit about women, so why are you all being such bitches and not allowing yourselves and your daughters to be discriminated against, and your rights trodden on’. How I heard from the ‘interview’ in my head. He was so bewildered when Mara wanted to clarify whether he was talking about a trans identified male, or a trans identified female. Even when talking about trans identified, the presenter was like ‘who would care about the female ones?’ (My take).

I think so many women are over this manipulative, and mendacious, portrayal of the reality. Why are these people trying to push abusive discrimination by males on women and girls?
