There has been much discussion of the threat placards and statue vandalism on the weekend.

Worse happened though. Brave women were attacked by TAs on Saturday

Jean Hatchet was there and has been interviewed about it on GB news.

Woman 'covered in BRUISES' after 'TERRIFYING assault' at transgender march: 'They're VIOLENT men!'

They will kill someone. They are beside themselves with rage at being thwarted.

Someone will still jump in to defend that. It will be women's fault somehow.

lifeturnsonadime · 21/04/2025 10:32

Some of these men are truly unhinged.

Datun · 21/04/2025 11:14

She was told she could not walk to the town hall, a public building of democracy, because she might be attacked?

Was this by the police?

JSMill · 21/04/2025 11:18

This is just absurd. Keir Starmer holds talks at number 10 because of a fictional drama but has stayed silent over the real life toxic masculinity displayed over the weekend. A woman is serving two years over a tweet deemed to potentially incite violence but men walked past police in London holding up placards calling for violence against women and naming one particular person and they are allowed to carry on.

Stark.

I hope Jean is okay. I saw the footage and it looked terrifying. Witch burning mob going for women.

Believing yourself to be on TRSOH is a powerful drug.

And it seems to be a societal given that women are acceptable collateral in this context.

porridgecake · 21/04/2025 12:38

The Met police are an absolute disgrace. The level of corruption and misogyny is just so entrenched they are very comfortable demonstrating it on National TV. They are complicit in the contempt and disrespect for women and girls.

Sweetpeasaremadeforbees · 21/04/2025 18:35

Has anyone other than GB News covered this?

The most dangerous time for a woman in an abusive relationship is when she tries to leave.

That’s where we are right now. We’ve just told these men to get out.

So many in the police force need to be fired, and the rest need to be retrained in equality. This is INSANE! I don't trust the police at all. The UK is no longer a safe country for women.

CamillaMacauley · 21/04/2025 18:56

And in Nottingham today or yesterday. At least one TRA was assaulting a male bystander who wasn’t even involved on either side, he was just filming the protest.

CamillaMacauley · 21/04/2025 18:57

Isn’t Sheffield where the soup throwing incident occurred?

ErrolTheDragon · 21/04/2025 19:10

I hope that as happens with some violent protests there’s video evidence which the police follow up on.

(Rather hilariously silly and inaccurate poster in that link though)

RufustheFactuaIReindeer · 21/04/2025 21:44

Hopefully Jean and her partner are both fine and recovering

dreadful thing to happen, hopefully the police will pull their finger out and do somethIng!

Sheffield is like the Brighton of the midlands.

Campaigner ‘covered in bruises’ after marching through trans rally with Suffragette flag: ’Terrifying’

So she just went there with a suffragette flag and was assaulted? Along with the defacing of the Millicent Fawcett statue, it goes to show what these people think of women and women's rights. They are still angry about a woman's right to vote!

IwantToRetire · 21/04/2025 22:21

More and more I think that the TRAs are must the modern face of MRAs.

They hate and despise women.

For some of them it wont even be about the legal arguments or even about the legal or non legal statues of trans.

They are just beside themselves with rage that women aren't complient and know their place.

I wonder if anyone had had the time or inclination to compare the number of placards on the various marches, to see how many were actually making statements about trans rights, and how many were just messages of hate towards women.

I suspect trans = 0% and anti woman = 100%

Sheffield is in the Midlands? I thought it was Yorkshire. I would have declared Leeds to be the Brighton of Yorkshire.

Didn’t Eddie Izard try to get voted in as mp for Sheffield and lose?

It is Yorkshire. I think most Sheffield folk would consider themselves northern (just), same latitude as Manchester surely?
