Lib Dems accept women are real

Implications of the win come thick and fast.

Ed Davey who was confused about biology for years now does a massive reverse ferret.

EdwardJDavey on ITN questioned about whether libdems
accept the Supreme Court ruling [sex means biological sex in the Equality Act says] says 'we accept entirely the ruling' 'and they've brought greater clarity to the Equality Act which many people have been confused about'

Wow Ed has learned basic biology. How old is he?

Huge implications for the Lib Dems. Please write to your Lib Dem MPs and Councilors and demand an apology to Liberal Voice for Women who always said women were real. Ask questions in upcoming local elections. Keep the pressure on. We need to start eliminating the sexist nonsense in all our political parties and Local Government.

Big news for Layla Moran, whose special talent documented in Hansard for seeing into people's souls rather than clocking which sex they are, like the rest of us, is no longer going to be her party's official policy. Also for Baroness Brinton, who said on the record that she would regard a House of Commons made up of 50% men and 50% transwomen, I.e. trans-identifying males, as having achieved gender equality. I won't be forgetting any time soon that when Amy Challenor flounced from the Greens it was the LibDems he joined before he went to the US.

ZepherinDrouhin · 17/04/2025 05:47

Has the green party said anything yet?

Chersfrozenface · 17/04/2025 06:11

Ed, old bean, I'm afraid even the BBC have been keeping receipts.

"In May 2023, leader Sir Ed Davey told LBC: "The vast majority of people will have the same gender as their biological sex, but a small number won't."

When asked by presenter Nick Ferrari "so, a woman can have a penis?", he replied: "Well, quite clearly.""

I bet Lynne Featherstone’s fuming.

NotDarkGothicMama · 17/04/2025 06:48

Fuck them and every other politician who was too cowardly to publicly object to a blindingly obvious injustice against women. Plenty expressed concerns in private and being frightened of wrecking their careers. They should all be ashamed.

Yup we totally call them out from their hypocrisy. However we also take the WIN.

We take back the Lib Dems and ALL the parties. Because remember the TAs next long term plan will be to use Parliament to legislate that biology is wrong.

The Lib Dems are the largest party where that viewpoint might have some support. We need to CRUSH that possibility now with the help of Lib Voice for Women.

Fucking hell I can't believe this country has got so confused nobody knows what a woman is. There must be uproar in Brighton.

highame · 17/04/2025 08:39

I assume @Gettingbysomehow that the country is not confused about what a woman is. I suspect the country is confused that it took a trip to the Supreme Court to decide.

Will be interesting to see what Wera Hobhouse has to say on the matter. Given she wrote back to me (after I sent a letter regarding the Scottish rapist in a Womens prision), and she explained that the poor vulnerable transwomen must of course be housed in female prisons, and I was a bigot to suggest otherwise.

I've still got the letter, on HOC headed paper.

I do wonder if the press might be interested in it now.

ehb102 · 17/04/2025 09:53

Charlotte Cane stood on my doorstep and said she thinks men should be allowed to self ID into women's spaces. That's a religious belief not party politics. I didn't vote for her.

I think the press might well be interested.

As an aside, I love your username.

Oh I very much think the press would be very interested in that. Or even just take a photo and plaster it all over Twix.

YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAASSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!

I will take great pleasure in writing to the Libdems.

I hope they actually listen, and make reparation.

Then I might be able to actually think about voting for the bastards again.

ArabellaScott · 17/04/2025 10:14

We take back the Lib Dems and ALL the parties.

This is your chance, political parties of the UK.

You have lost voters hand over fist in the past few years. Why? Because for a start you mouthed absurdities like 'some women have penises', and for a second, you attacked women who complained, ejected them, vilified them, barred them, defamed them and shunned them.

We are half the population. We have been watching and listening. We saw the pictures of Karen White and Isla Bryson. We saw the men who claim to be women and dressed as offensive caricatures of women. We saw you waving all the flags and chanting the mantras. We responded to your bullshit consultations, we wrote polite letters, we spoke anonymously and in secret, and we kept all the receipts.

The Supreme court judgement gives you one golden chance. One golden bridge. You can now claim that you see clearly, that actually, gosh, you always cared about women, that you now understand that women are human and deserving of human rights. There will be a very short window in which you'll be able to redeem yourselves.

After that, once things have solidified into the camp of people who are willing to openly try to argue that there are more than two sexes and that its possible to change sex, and the rest of the populace, you will be on one side or the other.

Choose well.

Ingenieur · 17/04/2025 10:16

A female Lib-Dem councillor flounced off and called me awful during doorstep canvassing during the last election cycle for raising this as an example of Lib-Dem policies that preclude me from voting for them.

I wonder how long the process of de-programming will take?

JuneFromBethesda · 17/04/2025 10:17

I voted Lib Dem for years and years. They lost me over this issue. They have a long way to go before I’d be willing to trust them again.

Agree. Where’s the accountability. Starmer and co too

Skyellaskerry · 17/04/2025 10:24

Anyone remember Carla Denyer only a few weeks ago interviewed by Tom Swarbrick?! Please someone get her back on now, perhaps she will have unscrambled her brain.

I'm so glad we've kept all the receipts...

You don't have to vote for them ever again.

What we do have to do is make the parties BEG for women's votes the same way they cowered before the TAs.

That is the ONLY way to make sure this never happens again.

Then we can return to arguing about simple stuff like fixing the economy, law and order, decent education, ending war etc. This nonsense has been a colossal waste of everyone's time. We end it once and for all by following through.

Rayner c 2021: Women's rights are not in conflict with trans rights

Rayner 2022 “Transgender women's rights are women's rights."

2024: ‘We have biological women and we have trans women. And they’re both women: one is a biological woman through sex and one is a trans woman who has transitioned. Most of the public can get that.’

2025?

I lose track of the many legal cases involving political parties - was it Natalie Bird who was suing the Libdems?
