Lib Dems accept women are real

Implications of the win come thick and fast.

Ed Davey who was confused about biology for years now does a massive reverse ferret.

EdwardJDavey on ITN questioned about whether libdems
accept the Supreme Court ruling [sex means biological sex in the Equality Act says] says 'we accept entirely the ruling' 'and they've brought greater clarity to the Equality Act which many people have been confused about'

Wow Ed has learned basic biology. How old is he?

Huge implications for the Lib Dems. Please write to your Lib Dem MPs and Councilors and demand an apology to Liberal Voice for Women who always said women were real. Ask questions in upcoming local elections. Keep the pressure on. We need to start eliminating the sexist nonsense in all our political parties and Local Government.

I bet Lynne Featherstone’s fuming.

I hope so.

Let her fume for all eternity.

Anyone remember Carla Denyer only a few weeks ago interviewed by Tom Swarbrick?! Please someone get her back on now, perhaps she will have unscrambled her brain.

Oh no. Shes been posting on Twitter about trans rights following the ruling.

Fuck them and every other politician who was too cowardly to publicly object to a blindingly obvious injustice against women. Plenty expressed concerns in private and being frightened of wrecking their careers. They should all be ashamed.

This. In spades.

Chersfrozenface · 17/04/2025 12:00

Reality Denyer off on one again, is she?

The Lib Dems had their conference in Harrogate very recently and you can read the motions that they passed here. Not sure if the rainbow-y one meshes with this latest statement from Ed

I reluctantly voted for our winning Lib Dem candidate, because he personally was totally against "gender madness". He said he could fight it from the inside. I don't know if he ever did.

As PPs said, here's Carla Denyer (Green Party Co-leader):

I know there are many trans and non-binary people who will be feeling deeply worried today, caught in the midst of a media storm as they try to simply live their lives. To those people, I say: please know that I stand with you - today, tomorrow and always.
The Green Party continues to support a policy of self-ID to allow trans people to live full lives free from harassment in the gender they know themselves to be. The judge emphasised in his speech that trans people are still protected under the law, but it is for government to now demonstrate how this will be achieved. I will work closely with human rights and LGBTIQA+ groups to understand the consequences of this ruling, and will not hesitate to press for changes in legislation if it is needed to protect the human rights of all.

Don't think Carla will be pressing for the human rights of women...

We'll have lots of questions for any election canvassers 😀

Rayner c 2021: Women's rights are not in conflict with trans rights

Rayner 2022 “Transgender women's rights are women's rights."

2024: ‘We have biological women and we have trans women. And they’re both women: one is a biological woman through sex and one is a trans woman who has transitioned. Most of the public can get that.’

2025?

Would love to hear David Lammy's women’s-rights-campaigners-are-dinosaurs and "men can grow a cervix" comments too!

Let's remember the Green party were ordered by a court to pay nearly £100,000 to their former deputy leader, Shahrar Ali, when it was found to have discriminated against him when they fired him as a spokesman in a row over his gender critical beliefs.

Mention that if the Green's come calling before the local elections. Hope they get trounced in the elections.

Peregrina · 17/04/2025 14:46

When the Lib Dems had to make a payout to Natalie Bird of I think £15,000 I decided that the next time they passed the begging bowl round (i.e. now with elections coming up) the answer would be No. If they have got money to waste trying to deny the bleeding obvious, then they don't need my money.

We take back the Lib Dems and ALL the parties.

This is your chance, political parties of the UK.

You have lost voters hand over fist in the past few years. Why? Because for a start you mouthed absurdities like 'some women have penises', and for a second, you attacked women who complained, ejected them, vilified them, barred them, defamed them and shunned them.

We are half the population. We have been watching and listening. We saw the pictures of Karen White and Isla Bryson. We saw the men who claim to be women and dressed as offensive caricatures of women. We saw you waving all the flags and chanting the mantras. We responded to your bullshit consultations, we wrote polite letters, we spoke anonymously and in secret, and we kept all the receipts.

The Supreme court judgement gives you one golden chance. One golden bridge. You can now claim that you see clearly, that actually, gosh, you always cared about women, that you now understand that women are human and deserving of human rights. There will be a very short window in which you'll be able to redeem yourselves.

After that, once things have solidified into the camp of people who are willing to openly try to argue that there are more than two sexes and that its possible to change sex, and the rest of the populace, you will be on one side or the other.

Choose well.

Responding to the Supreme Court ruling on the Equality Act, Liberal Democrat Equalities Spokesperson Christine Jardine said:
“We accept the Supreme Court's ruling, which rightly recognises there's been too much confusion for too long over what protections the Equality Act provides.

But there seemed to be no confusion in their minds when they declared that TW were W.
