Just realised that there are local Elections in May. My geography of central England is appalling (sorry!) so am I right in thinking our Midlands search accidentally overlaps quite well with these election areas?

Yes, basically the template is the form. It’s been through a few iterations as we have got better at knowing what we need to hunt for, so at one point I think we called it a template. Just do your best with the form, and pop back on here if you need any guidance - we’re all pretty experienced now.

A corker from Northamptonshire General's hidden policy (only available thanks to Ermine's FOI), not sure if we've seen this one before. Needs a new square on the bingo card:

"In addition to the usual safeguards outlined in relation to all other patients, it is important to take into account that immediately post-operatively, or while unconscious for any reason, those trans women who usually wear wigs, are unlikely to wear them in these circumstances, and may be ‘read’ incorrectly as men. Extra care is therefore required so that their privacy and dignity as women are appropriately ensured."

That is a corker - and is in many of the policies. I don't know whether it correlates with Stonewall Silver or Stonewall Gold - never bothered to track that because I thought it was fair enough. All of us want to remain presentable when in a groggy state. The odd thing about it is that it's specifically for trans people - what about turbans or niquabs etc? It's almost like the entire thing has been written for white males - go figure?

One of the FOIs has something to do with the Rainbow Badge scheme, I think? Which is evidence of a trust’s link to Stonewall. It may be worth digging a bit there.

Hello I would be happy to take a look at Chesterfield Royal and Derbyshire Community if no one else has claimed them (I'm already doing Derbyshire Healthcare)

I’m probably a bit further south than you’ve reached, but am happy to take Great Western Hospital Trust. I’ve already been nosing around their alleged ‘single sex spaces’ guidance.

I cannot find the trans policy for Sandwell - I know it exists because they've referred to it in the annual report. In fact I think they said there were two! They said they didn't have one to Ermine's 2024 FOI. Oodles of Stonewall stuff though.

Oh thank you! Are you ok holding onto the info you find for the minute? We are collecting a load of data at the moment and we’re trying to keep it somewhat segregated into areas, just to stop from losing the plot in the analysis side.

We will definitely be looking at other areas soon!

Any chance you could tackle one in the midlands to help us get through them? Most of us are reviewing policy miles from home 😬
