Female prisoner prosecuted for misgendering trans murderer

I don't know if there has been a thread on this before - if so, I missed it. I only just came across this on Twitter.

Greenock Prison in Scotland has a female wing. One of the prisoners is a male-to-female trans person, serving a sentence for murder, who used to be called Alan Baker but now uses the name Alexandria Stewart.

A female prisoner called Jane Sutherley, serving a sentence for culpable homicide, is alleged to have carried out a "four year campaign of abuse" against Stewart, apparently using he and him pronouns and referring to Stewart as "the tranny".

Sutherley is now being tried for behaving in a “threatening and abusive manner”, aggravated by “transgender prejudice”. The case has been adjourned until May apparently.

I imagine the architects of the Scottish Enlightenment are spinning in their graves.

This is why there should be no males in female jails, I hope Jane Sutherley wins, because it should never have come to trail in the first place.

Scotland, no surprise. The level of male violence towards women is out of control here but. hey ho, let's prosecute a woman for a bit of name calling and correctly sexing a man who shouldn't be in a female prison in the first place.
