That is the least she deserves, what a woman.

OuterSpaceCadet · 19/12/2024 12:50

She is utterly inspirational. I desperately hope she knows how many women around the world admire her.

Jein · 19/12/2024 12:56

Good. She is absolutely amazing. What an incredible woman.

Projectme · 19/12/2024 12:56

That woman is amazing. Shining a light on such horrific abuse has to be commended.

Freeasabird76 · 19/12/2024 12:58

I am in awe of this amazing woman, such bravery and courage.

Glamourreader · 19/12/2024 12:59

So pleased 😀 the whole world is horrified by the actions of those men.

I'm also in awe of her bravery ❤️

FallinUltra · 19/12/2024 13:00

Thank fuck for that. I was genuinely worried they’d walk, because consent is not required in French law.

cushionfiend · 19/12/2024 13:01

Thank god. She is an incredible woman, so brave, strong and inspirational. I can't begin to imagine the toll this trial would take on you, on top of the discovery of the abuse. Amazing woman.

Redshoeblueshoe · 19/12/2024 13:03

Totally agree with FallinUltra - I cannot believe that consent is not part of French law.
Incredible woman.

FallinUltra · 19/12/2024 13:09

The sentences are not terribly long, though. 6-13 years, except for the husband who got 20.

Does anyone know wether it is customary in France to serve only half, as in the UK?

I felt emotional watching her walk out of court with the women clapping & shouting 'Bravo Giselle!'.

Now the public drama is over I hope everyone leaves her alone while she recovers from everything that's happened following her husband's treachery. She deserves peace.

TheBestUsernamesAreGone · 19/12/2024 14:16

She should be 'Person of the Year'. Time magazine chose an actual rapist instead.
What an amazing woman.

FranticFrankie · 19/12/2024 14:21

Bravo Gisele!! 🌹

It helps to think of it collectively. Together, they got hundreds of years for what they did.

She is an inspiration. What an amazing woman. I hope she finds peace and healing and knows a world of women stand with her.

Grammarnut · 20/12/2024 13:07

She deserves the Legion d'Honeur. She has done inestimable good. Why women should be shamed for being raped is a mystery to me. About time the guilt and shame were shoved where they belong. Good wishes to her forever!

YoYoYoYo12345 · 20/12/2024 13:13

Having to explain to her 6-yr-old that he wouldn't be seeing his beloved grandfather again and, in age-appropriate language, why.Sad

She's resolutely positive at the end. My goodness all power to her.

ArabellaSaurus · 04/10/2025 10:47

I hope the sadistic bastard has his sentence increased.

BernardBlacksMolluscs · 04/10/2025 11:04

"I don't accept being labelled a rapist," he protested. "It's too heavy a burden for me to carry."

Although 16 other defendants also initially lodged appeals, Dogan was the only one who has pushed ahead with it.

some of these men genuinely did not understand that women are human and what we want matters, did they?
