Employment Tribunal Case to Protect Single-Sex Facilities at Work

FayeRC · 06/09/2024 13:39

Dear Mumsnet Members,

I have issued an employment tribunal complaint against NHS England to protect single-sex facilities at work.

A preliminary hearing will be held in early October 2024. I would be very grateful for some urgent gardening support at CrowdJustice. I won't add a link here as it is against Mumsnet rules.

It would be interesting to hear other people's views on legislation around single-sex facilities at WORK. However, I won't be commenting much on this public forum whilst the case is on-going.

Yours faithfully,
Faye Russell-Caldicott / FayeRC

Given how often banks have issues with payments I really recommend having more than one way to make payments, whether that is a credit card from a different provider or 2 bank accounts.

Yes I do for actual bills etc, but not that I do terfery with. Only one card for that, or I have checks or paypal but apparently crowdjustice isn't willing to accept either of those. I mean how many different options am I expected to have? Why can't crowdjustice have more than one option if they want my money?

Faye if you want a cheque i'm happy to send one direct to your lawyers.

Likewise. I get that it's a go-to site for relatively straightforward funding but I loathe CJ because it doesn't accept a disposable card (I always use them for online payments and anything using a card reader. Too many places have breached data and let people in for identity theft).

I'm even happy to do a bank transfer at this point but I've no idea if that's no help because it would cost the legal firm a certain amount for them to process it etc.

I've come across this 'computer says no' response a couple of times before. Once was with Premier Inn. The solution there was to give my money to a local, cheaper, family owned and very nice B&B instead. So win, win really.

@StickItInTheFamilyAlbum you're absolutely right i think to be worried about data breaches. And there are plenty of people who won't want to donate to such causes in their own name due to the Sandie Peggie type punishments in their workplace if their sex realism was known.

Donated some kale plants a few days ago. Hope it goes well.

The 70k target is for a full ET case, so at the moment I'm just looking to reach an interim target, which is about ~£200 away.

So far, the crowdfunder has covered the legal fees for the first preliminary hearing, responses to further information as requested by the Respondent, medical records, disability impact statement, more further info provided on disability status, and now the second preliminary hearing next week. I only campaign for one step at a time.

Brilliant news that you're almost there for this stage

FayeRC · 16/02/2025 16:53

We made it! The interim goal reached and the legal costs for the 2nd preliminary hearing should be covered now.

Thank you all for your support xx

I will update you all on the results of the prel hearing towards the end of next week.

I'm so glad you reached your total, Faye. I've been donating in spirit this time, as my financial situation is quite precarious just now.

I hope for your win.

In the last week or so, the Sandie Peggie case has completely transformed the dynamic in favour of women and looks firmly set to fundamentally change the legal and political environment in favour of reasserting and re-establishing their rights in law.

With the welcome intervention by the Scottish ECHR public watchdog, there has been a clear transfer of momentum towards women rightly demanding that their rights are respected and the law is clarified in order to to protect their dignity and their bodies; the balance of power is steadily shifting towards those women and their supporters favouring common-sense over the delusions and imagination of men who have a penchant for dressing up as the opposite sex and cheating by participating in their sports, stifling the development and safety of female competitors and unfairly being awarded prize money.

I believe this will prove to be a pivotal moment in Scottish history resolving the misinterpretation of the law that women have been admirably mobilising against, addressing the inequity and imbalance of being relegated to "second class second class" citizens by the likes of Upton, a man using the name "Beth" who wears womens clothes and attempted to assert his non-existent rights to humiliate, goad, provoke and degrade Sandie Peggie in the private space reserved for the use of her sex.

I don't know Sandie Peggie at all, but I trust her to see this through ultimately for the benefit of women, not only herself. I anticipate that the subsequent Judgment will reassert reality over fantasy, truth over falsehood, and safety concerns over vacuous mottos of "be kind" and "inclusivity" to the exclusion and endangerment of women.

A long hot Summer beckons where the kickback will be in full swing - search for Faye Russell-Caldicott (a pseudonymym), "Harriet Haynes (a man) vs English Pool and Billiards Federation" (suing them for "discrimination") and the Darlington Nurses.

Well said. It's exposed the fact that behind this movement are powerful predators determined to remove safeguarding for women and girls and using the language of trans inclusion to get their demands achieved.

All the dodgy quiet bits spoken aloud in court with a horrified public watching and listening.

FayeRC · 26/02/2025 19:28

We were prepared and ready for the 2nd preliminary hearing last week but unfortunately it was cancelled last minute due to a lack of judges. We are hoping to get a new date shortly.

How frustrating.

Nail biting that lasted a whole week ended in a very loud fist pump in a public place when I read about today's Supreme Court ruling.

Thank you For Women Scotland.

Thrilled at the Ruling of the Supreme Court, massive, back of the net!

SinnerBoy · 17/04/2025 01:35

The SC case means, to me at least, the opposition is about to discover that their case is built on sand. Best of luck to you, Faye!

FayeRC · 13/06/2025 18:05

Hello all, I'm back :)

We've had the second preliminary hearing now where anonymity and reporting restrictions on my true identity were granted! The case will go ahead!

Now that the Darlington nurses have reached some kind of an agreement with their Trust (no info on the details yet), this leaves my case as the only one in the health sector in England's side. There are other GC cases in England's side, too.

I had added signage to the allotment site saying I needed anonymity to continue with this. If you have previously decided to wait until you hear whether I'll take this all the way through, now would be the best time to find bigger shovels for the allotment. Although the public have been great at supporting this, I've also planted thousands of peas out of my own pocket. However, we have a lot of work to do this summer (including evidence) which will need to be sorted in advance.

Pls search for Faye Russell-Caldicott (pseudonym) and share the link. Thank you!

Great news

ItsCoolForCats · 13/06/2025 20:06

That is good news. I'm glad your case is proceeding and you have been granted anonymity. It must be a weight off your mind.

Have the Darlington Nurses settled? I've not seen anything about that.

Manderleyagain · 14/06/2025 10:22

From press reports, the darlington nurses have managed to get provision of proper single sex changing in their hospital. Apparently Wes Streeting told NHS England who told the darlo nhs trust to get it sorted. Not sure if it has actally been done yet. But I don't know if that means they will be settling on other aspects of their case. They still suffered terrible treatment for a long time. I expect how their hospital respond to this latest intervention will make a difference to the course of the case. But I guess if they do what they are told then the OP will be the only legal case in England using the courts to get single sex facilities implemented in the nhs.
