It can be and is ready now:

https://grimut-gerbils.teemill.com/product/steampunk-cat-baseball-shirt/

@EdithStourton Yes that is very annoying, there are some irritating shortages on the long-sleeved t-shirts. I will enquire.

@Winnading So far the gerbils have taken orders for 11 things and have stashed £8.90 for charity (profit is set to minimum so this will take a while... keep buying). Do you have any requests? I am going to buy a mug, I think.

I dont have any requests, yet.
That baseball top with steampunk cat is lovely. I think I'll look again tomorrow, maybe another tote will be my undoing.

Winnading · 28/04/2024 16:19

I think you'll find its Aston university's fault.

I mean in a long winded kind of way, but deffo their fault.

Honest.

Well obviously.
They started it.

I would like to add that if we’re still trying to decide on a new lingo for FWR, I can speak secondary school-level Irish and basic Klingon. Both of which are excellent languages for shouting in, I might add 😬

NonVerbalHateCrime · 28/04/2024 18:37

@Winnading I've just added a larger shopper tote in black...

Two more announcements - one, there will be free delivery over the next (Bank Holiday) weekend.

Secondly, we've got the original up and running:

<spams thread>
@EdithStourton Sorry, this one was what you wanted. Also in red

https://grimut-gerbils.teemill.com/product/garbled-gerbils-crew-neck/

Just be difficult, I didn't like the red but I have ordered it in blue.

Not sure how I will describe the deep significance of it all to DH when I roll into bed with my nice new PJ top on....

Ich habe nicht genug Deutsch to be able to sprechen fluent Deutsch, so ich spreche in Deutschlish - or Germanlish? Or perhaps Engerman?

AlisonDonut · 28/04/2024 19:11

I have NO IDEA how I am going to explain the original T-shirt as my OH was away last week and I've not told him about any of this yet.

DrSoupDragonsFriend · 28/04/2024 19:37

Good luck with Monsieur Donut!

I can manage:-
Fluent franglais,
Rather rusty semaphore,
Limited fingerspelling in BSL
Greetings, thanks and the words of quite a few songs in Welsh, plus the conversation: "Sut dych chi?" followed by "Wedi blino." which has proved useful because it's almost always true. Duolingo changed from having a friendly user interface into something horrible after I learnt "Wedi blino" so I gave up. If anyone knows a good online Welsh course, do let me know.

When do orders need to be placed for the free bank holiday delivery?

I've heard some people recommend Say Something In Welsh https://www.saysomethingin.com/en/automagic/?gad_source=1&gclid=CjwKCAjw57exBhAsEiwAaIxaZg_Qq9h7f4uRZnd-BTgJOJwdkFbb6zuMwuo-VnhSiA-G_W1RC2vWVxoCH7AQAvD_BwE

Thanks,@Chersfrozenface . I think I'll follow that up.

When do orders need to be placed for the free bank holiday delivery?

Currently, orders over £50 qualify for free UK delivery.

As the Bank Holiday is Monday the 6th May, I expect that orders placed that weekend - 4th/5th/6th May - would have free UK delivery even if under £50.

BIWI · 28/04/2024 21:22

Can I ask a very crass question? With many apologies if I've already missed this (quite probably as this thread has moved quite quickly!), but where it is the money going for these t-shirts/sweatshirts? I'd assume the the poster who has set it up and is organising the whole thing will be being paid/being paid a profit - but is that it?

Not at all crass and entirely reasonable.

As far as I can, I’ve set up everything not to make a profit, but the website won’t let me do that totally on some products. So any profit will go to a feminist charity- to be discussed on here. So far it’s about £8!

NotLarkLane · 28/04/2024 21:30

@BIWI profits are going to Sex Matters was one suggestion, or somewhere else worthy tbc..

BIWI · 28/04/2024 21:34

Thank you, and <phew> it wasn't seen as crass Blush
Sex Matters is a great charity. But can I suggest that it might be needed as a 'fighting fund' for Mumsnet/Justine?

NonVerbalHateCrime · 28/04/2024 21:42

@BIWI They can have all the profits (!) if they retweet the merch…

NonVerbalHateCrime · 28/04/2024 22:08

And free postage starts on Friday.
