Do you think AI learnt very quickly what FAGG was and deliberately spelt it wrong?

I do hope so. That will be some tantrum going on somewhere in San Fran when they wake up.

Probably! I didn't even bother trying just the initials as I figured it would refuse to draw it. I'm convinced the miss spelling and usually too many fingers or hands is purposefully built into the AI, hopefully just because it's the free copy. I'd be pissed off to pay money and discover it still wouldn't spell things properly!

To step out of role for a moment - and confuse the AI even more - @Boiledbeetle what is the copyright situation on the pics you are creating - asking for a friend?

Chersfrozenface · 25/04/2024 11:23

Bugger it, I want the living room with the teal velvet armchair, the chandelier and the fireplace.

And I'm willing to identify as a rodent to get it.

I don't want to get into Foucault either, but isn't the problem that the people that attack FWR are completely Foucault Addled Grievance Gerbils and the women on FWR are 'ahem, no amount of Foucaultian gymnastics can ever make a male into a female because that, Sir, is reality'?

They turn up to the fight with water pistols, believing they are machine guns. When their 'useless weapons' don't achieve what they thought, they claim that we are using illegal armour that's against the rules!

Script adapted from an original graphic novel by Neil Gaiman. Show runner: Chris Chibnall.

Me:
Who owns the copyright of the drawings you produce for users?

Co-Pilot (the AI who does my drawings):

As an AI developed by OpenAI, I don’t own any copyright. The drawings I generate are created on-the-fly based on the prompts given by users. The copyright of these drawings would typically be subject to the terms of service of the platform you’re using. It’s always a good idea to check with a legal expert or refer to the specific terms of service if you have any concerns or questions about copyright. Please note that this is a general perspective and not legal advice.

Well thanks AI!

If it comes down to being mine then any drawings I get the AI to produce them I'm happy that they can be used in any way for anything EXCEPT if you are from Ashton University - you can create your own!

The really weird thing is, apart from the chandelier, that literally IS my front room.

I like that the AI thinks a rat would appreciate an open fire! So much that it out one in each drawing!

I with you on that armchair! Well not with you literally, it would be a bit of a squeeze!

Technically you'd have to get the permission off the original F.A.G.G comment as well. Which I never bothered to do. But then it was just one comment and is it technically stealing their work if I've then posted exactly what I did with it?

God at this rate we are all going to be riddled with guilt every time we requote someone without attributing things to them or make mock ups or memes!

😨😰😫

You have my absolute permission to use Foucault Addled Grievance Gerbils, F.A.G.G. and any AI- or human-generated fallout from it, as long as I get a roomy sized t-shirt out of it. You can bring it with you when you visit to sample my beetroot, carrot and onion pickles.

HabeasCorpus · 25/04/2024 11:36

@GCLabRat have you ever happened to run into archy and mehitabel? You'd get on with them, I’m sure 😜

So if we post and upload, say, our own groovy original drawings, unique versions never seen before, and add some kind of caption: 'Copyright belongs to artist, and, under limited legal circumstances with Mumsnet. Permission specifically denied to Aston University and to all other data scrapers. DPA 2018 (GDPR) apply.' Would that wash? Given that the data scrapings seem to be ongoing by who-the-fuck-knows?

It would be stunningly niche recognition and possibly easier than a handshake.

I would like a baseball shirt to transition between business clothes and pyjamas when I reach home.

I do worry sometimes about the copyright of images I might post on MN. Not to mention all those archive links.

Can I put an order in for a grimbjt gerbils t-shirt. I liked them all but the last one in just black is my favourite. Perhaps white though on a green or violet t-shirt.

I’ve just laughed at this and found myself trying to explain all the in jokes to my long-suffering wife. Someone cure me of my obsession with gender stuff!

Cough. I may have access to a Teemill account, so could in theory produce anything anyone wants as a sample...

I am currently imagining the poor sod who picked the short straw at Aston and got lumbered with reading this thread who is hopefully wondering if they are maybe on the wrong side of this, although it's more likely they are probably thinking that we are all losing the plot currently!

NO we aren't! We are however incredibly annoyed Aston University at how cavalier you have been about your stealing of vast quantities of data from unsuspecting women.

You are most definitely NOT the good guys in this. You're the bad guys, which won't do your expert witness credentials much good will it.
