I am a bit worried that "naice" people will think JKR is being horrid.

Perhaps the Independent could publish rather more of IW's tweets? Some of the ones about lesbians perhaps? Or women in general?

I've never really followed India's career. Does India have a delightful line in tweets?

IW is awful. Somehow they have managed to rebrand themselves as a left wing TRA who is gallantly fighting for the righteous, truth is, they talked about barbed wire in the channel to stop migrants crossing and other equally right wing shit but then somehow became a darling of the TRAs aggressively challenging anyone who dared sat they aren't female.

IW has goaded JKR for months accusing her of killing Trans kids, talked of kidnap and is off their rocker saying they are an AHF, biologically a female etc. IW is not a nice person.

JK is fucking fabulous.
She takes no shit and I really admire her brave stance.
I worry for the backlash but will always speak up for her.

IW so desperately wanted JKRs attention, even attempting to wear a dress and hair in the same style. Commenting time and again, threatening to kidnap her and others in a white van.

So as far as I am concerned, he is behaving in exactly the same way I'd expect a desperate for attention male to behave.

And JKR has every right to call him out.

The thread that was deleted about IW's appearance on a dating programme had some archived IW tweets that were predictable in the depths of IW's misogyny in addition to some that had previously been discussed on MN.

Perhaps I'm having a brain fog day. I didn't see misgendering in that article. I did see JKR calling someone who was born male, a man.

That dress and hair thing was weird. Even for a weirdo it was weird.
I think IW is goading JKR hoping for a court case, which IW believes JKR will then lose and have to pay IW shedloads of money as compo.

As others have said IW is terrible. She'll be thrilled by this attention.

That said I think its a strategic error by Rowling. It looks like bigotry and nastiness. The mast majority of people will just see the quote and have no clue about IW's prior behaviour.

IW thinks they have a cervix. Other TRAs call them out on their misogyny, that’s how misogynistic IW is. Also racist.

IW hates women with passion. they are always going on about fat/frumpy/unsexy/ugly/barren/old women (obviously they think they are the opposite of all these things!).
IW claims they are a "biological female" and that they have a cervix.
IW has boasted about intentionally seeking out female toilets instead of using unisex ones, in order to insert themselves into a female space.
IW bullied and intimidated an elderly woman on celebrity big brother because they were "Misgendered" or some such bollocks
IW got upset (on same Big Brother) that a man did not find her attractive and would not date a TW and tried to make him feel bad for his personal feelings.

IW is an absolute twat.

To those of us here in the reality-based community it looks like a statement of uncontroversial fact.

there is no "JKR v IW". One is an author famed across the entire world for her brilliant and imaginative works of fiction who has made a shedload of money, a good deal of which she has spent on worthy causes. the other is, what? A z list celeb well known for being, er, well known-and nasty with it. not quite the same thing at all.

Correctly sexing IW is not dehumanising; nor is pointing out IW is a racist misogynist who delights in trampling on women’s rights. I’m sure IW has received inappropriate comments - because IW always does. Obviously that’s not ok: nobody should be sent abusive messages. Thing is, they come from men who aren’t anything to do with JKR &/or feminists generally. IW is one of the many TRAs who can’t seem to understand they are unpopular with multiple disparate groups for different reasons; helpfully demonstrating their raging misogyny by blaming women for what random men say to them on social media.

Jaysus, “misgendering” is such a nonsense. JKR correctly sexed IW & there’s no good reason for her not to. If IW wants people to use female pronouns/“respect” some inner gender identity, IW needs to be respectful to others. Having shown JKR zero respect, demanding she comply is absurd. I realise that the state religion has indeed gone all out on the GenderWoo; but we still enjoy freedom of religion despite the existence of said State religion. The expectation we all hop on board & comply with the tenets of a faith we do not adhere to is quite brain-bending.

I think unfortunately starting this thread is what IW would see as a victory.

From a quick read of the article this is just the Independent stirring up reactions.

Anyone reading the tweets would see that it is the same statements made by many others on both the SBR side and the TWAW side.

Let keep twitter on twitter. It is a minority platform with in fact very few users. It is the MSM media that makes it important by do snap shots of arguements because they are too lazy to actually do their job. ie report the news.

Dont encourage them by rising to the bait.

If you see the context of the tweet it becomes clearer. JKR has been on the warpath in the last week because of the whole misgendering of Scarlet Blake as a female murderer rather than as a male one. She pointed out the conflict in detail over same sex spaces etc in multiple tweets.

Someone used Willoughby as an example of the type of person who should be gendered correctly. JKR disagreed. Hardly surprising given the way IW has treated countless women.

If a male celebrity who wasn't identifying as a woman made the threat of kidnapping women in a van, the press would be all over it in seconds.

But stick a skirt on and...

Willoughby has been desperately skinwalking JK Rowling for years to try and get her attention. It is getting weirder and weirder. Creepy as fuck. But right on brand.

Everytime JK Rowling opens her mouth, she makes me smile. There is no contest here, the woman is brilliant. If she has decided today is the day for a couple of smackdowns, then that works for me. Perhaps she was bored.

W is in a state of rage with and about women. The reasons are obvious. The never ending ranting about old/barren/dry/ugly/masculine, the racism, the misogyny.... ignore the words, listen to the feelings. They have and are something W is still not, and W knows it. They are not the first male with a TQ+ identity to come to the grim realisation that no amount of words or surgery reaches that desired end point. Miranda Yardley has an article somewhere describing themselves reaching that stage.

The whole 'a woman should never in this present herself as not naice' is just an extension of the same sexism I'm afraid. We have a male person here who is coming out with vile stuff and a female person who is bluntly speaking the truth.

Which one are we worrying about the public image of? And why?

Spot the extreme misogyny. JK is on the money. It's time to stop pandering to this and just whack it in the face of the general public until they wake up. We've tried nice, rational, 'her voice was ever soft, sweet and low' - while men screamed 'die in a grease fire' and ranted sociopathic ideology about kerb stomping and barbed wire baseball bats. IW was NOT "misgendered" - on the contrary, JKR used the correct pronouns for IW's sex.

And to accuse JKR of employing "stochastic terrorism" when we have seen the vitriol and abuse levelled at her, the attempts to cancel her books and films, the threats to her person and her close family members, often whipped up by well-known and high profile people (whether intentionally or not) would be laughable if it wasn't so appalling.

I wish that I was as eloquent and articulate as JKR - I often just can't find the words (or get them in order) when I'm put on the spot. She expresses herself fluently and powerfully - she's brilliant!
