I am a bit worried that "naice" people will think JKR is being horrid.

I've had two suspensions. Its been made very clear I need to toe the line.

IW will just be thrilled we are all talking about her.

Honestly, if I never see the phrase “stochastic terrorism” again it will be too soon. It’s such a toe-curling display of pseudo-intellectualism, never mind anything else 🤦‍♀️

The absolute fecking desperation to be - or rather, to identify as, actually being might have inconvenient icky consequences so - oppressed & vulnerable is utterly grotesque & shameful. The house of cards cannot fall fast enough.

Having chopped a fairly innocuous half-sentence out of my own earlier post because it might have been used against me, I appreciate your perspective.

And to accuse JKR of employing "stochastic terrorism" when we have seen the vitriol and abuse levelled at her, the attempts to cancel her books and films, the threats to her person and her close family members, often whipped up by well-known and high profile people (whether intentionally or not) would be laughable if it wasn't so appalling.

Including IW making a remark about kidnapping JKR, Joanna Cherry and someone else (sorry, brain not awake yet).

Maybe it's because I'm at the centre of it, but I have NEVER seen such a nasty, venomous pile-on. The dehumanising language is off the scale.

Well yes, if IW means the pile-ons onto JKR. IW evidently is oblivious of those.

I agree. JK has just given India the attention "they" (also on a warning so on best behaviour) crave.

Continuing to ignore would have enraged India more.

Also allows those who think misgendering is "literal violence" to have evidence against JK when everything JK has said so far is above reproach.

Remember IW shouting “I. AM. A. REAL. WOMAN. LET THAT PENETRATE” at a room of bemused looking women on celebrity big brother? Classic.

IW has got away with some very nasty comments on Twitter including racist remarks directed at a Black woman, a kidnap threat against JKR and others and wishing that Debbie Hayton would die. Somehow IW is immune to the Twitter bans enacted against others.

I do think that IW finally provoked JKR into losing her rag. Up until now her MO has been either to ignore nasty remarks or to make some witty response that puts the provoker in their place. So IW is presumably pleased that they can now act like a poor wronged individual.

Worth a rewatch.

The first time I saw it was in more of a feminist context. Like everything, I suspect genderists have appropriated it from other movements.

Semantic shift seems to be happening in real time with so many words and concepts. And yes, on FWR, there's a notable increase in some posters using words and concepts that they've seen here but they're using incorrectly. (What do I know, given the obliging nature of dictionary houses, such use will probably be the approved version within 3 years.)

The Westminster Bridge attack in 2017 was stochastic terrorism.

People basically decided “lone wolf” made the perpetrator sound too cool. Well, too cool to the sort of eejit who could be persuaded into thinking harming others for their Cause was just grand, anyway.

But now it’s mostly used by people bleating about the sheer effrontery of women talking back to the penis people. Women saying The N-word. Not the actual N-word, obviously, but saying “no” to The Special Men does get you accused of being a Nazi KKK member. Even if you’re a disabled black Jewish lesbian.

As soon as I saw the headline in the OP, I thought “Call the police, a woman has called a man a man!”

The Independent is as captured as the Guardian, and always has been. JKR is heroic, IW is a nuisance, nothing has changed.

Plus it would allow for a full Joan of Arc martyr experience

Seeing that the Independent found time and space to report on the fact that a woman pointed out a male person is male, I searched the site for "WPATH" in the last week, because surely they'd have something about the leaked files showing callous disregard on the part of WPATH members for the dysphoric children and other vulnerable people they treat.

My grandmother wouldn't have been interested,unless it affected her supply of dropped scones.
