Apart from anything else, there are plenty of men who transition, from very little, to the whole nine yards, who are still highly attracted to women and thoroughly 'enjoy' violating their boundaries.

but actually, it's not about whether or not the man really wants to, only wants to a bit, or doesn't fancy the women or just wants them to validate him, or whatever. It's not about his reasons. It's about the women in the changing rooms.

I don't want to get changed in front of my father-in-law, and he's delightful. Or my son's friends.

Women require privacy, as well as safety. And it's not up to men to decide which of them gets to violate that depending on how they feel.

Genuine question though, if a man genuinely transitioned how would you feel about them accessing the female changing rooms? Most of the time it is clear to tell even when fully transitioned.

I guess in the future this will happen more and more, what can we do to protect our young women?

This comes up every so often as if it is a surprise or edge case, and not the entire basis of the "trans women are women" claim that FWR and others have been fighting for the best part of the last decade.

This does genuinely surprise me as it implies that changing dress or appearance does, to some people, seem to make someone "more" of a woman (but those who don't even put lipstick on are in some different category!!)

Cannot change biology. Its a costume. Change the costume as you wish, identify as a woman but biology doesn't agree.

It's not an uncommon attitude, to be honest. That if someone really goes the whole hog, then why not?

But the problem with that scenario is that it's wholly concentrating on the man, his validation, and his wants and needs. And completely disregards the women and girls. But not only that, it is quite happy to use them to validate that man.

You have to remember, it's not the actual women's space that is the focus. It's the women and girls in that space. The space is just four walls and a ceiling. If all the women left, and went to a different space, the focus would switch from the first space to the second space.

The presence of the women is crucial. It is their physical presence that provides the validation. Hence the complete lack of interest in a third, dedicated space.

Women are being used as a tool.

And in terms of how to tackle it, we need to get back to a culture that understands single sex means single sex. And the social stigma of violating that.

Part of the problem is that women and girls now feel unable to challenge a man, any man, in their space. We need to switch that back.

And upon challenge, if men fail to leave, then security or police need to take over.

Just like they did before.

When does the discomfort or actual risk change?

Lipstick?
Contouring?
Skirt?
Heels?

Do we require that some men perform stereotypes that are not actually inherent to being female? Stereotypes that may in time come to be seen as male thanks to the ubiquitousness of drag.

The reality is, there are always going to be some men that some women are comfortable sharing with - I can promise you my Nigel is completely safe, for example - but that decision can never be made for all women. And, crucially, whether or not any individual man has undergone any or all of the steps above is irrelevant when factoring in whether women would feel comfortable or actually be safe around them.

He’s not a woman. Neither would he be a woman if he made an effort to look feminine - eg got rid of the beard and wore a wig to cover the male pattern baldness. Nor would he be a woman if he wore a dress or lipstick. Whether he’s masculine-presenting or feminine-presenting makes no difference. He’s as much a woman as I’m a man (that is, not at all). He’s an adult human male and he doesn’t belong in female single-sex spaces.

How many transmen are there, I wonder, presenting in a traditionally feminine way but calling themselves men and using he/him pronouns? How many transmen have long hair and make-up, wear bras not binders, have no intention of any surgery or hormones, but just want to be called men and given access to men’s toilets? Rarer than unicorns, I’ll bet.

When a male person says they are a woman, that is their transition. Self-id and "trans women are women" means that is what transition is.

Back when "trans" meant someone wanted to be perceived as the opposite sex, changing appearance made sense, because it was still accepted that women were female.

But now they are not - a woman is a person of either sex who identifies as a woman. That is the only requirement, and it's circular, there are no actual criteria.

There are so many of these stories.

Worse still imo are the people promoting or defending minor attracted individuals. They are hiding under an umbrella. Speak out and get called 'transphobe'
