Stating biological fact is an LGBTQ+ "hate crime"

Rishi Sunak still repeating transphobic ‘a woman is a woman’ statement (msn.com)

"Sunak’s disdain for trans people has run parallel to anti-trans rhetoric spreading across the county. The Home Office admitted less than 24 hours following his CPC speech that politicians are in part responsible for the rise in anti-LGBTQ+ hate crimes."
"Belgium’s deputy prime minister, Petra De Sutter, who is trans, condemned the speech as “hurtful and disappointing.
“These words are fueling transphobia and endangering the lives of many people around the world,” she said at the time. “Trans women are women. And in no way a threat to others. Don’t join the real bullies.”

It really IS 1984 come to life.
Wrong speak, wrong think.

Biological fact (undisputable, undeniable, immutable and proven) FACTS are now a hate crime.
How can a fact be "hurtful and disappointing"? Is anyone else worried that this ideology is now reaching the top tiers of government ? De Sutter is deputy prime minister. No doubt if they are ever in the top job, it WILL be an actual crime to say a man is a man, and a woman is a woman.

At this point I would be quite happily jailed for sticking to FACTS.

They're going to need bigger jails.

Considering that me saying as a homosexual female that I have a sexuality based on recognising and exclusively being attracted to my own sex - and that is not inclusive of the other sex regardless of their wishes - is also apparently 'hate' and even 'homophobic'. 😜

LGB 'hate crimes' committed by LGB people by being LGB. Can you imagine standing in a court room as a homosexual to face charges of.... upsetting someone of the opposite sex for saying that how ever they identified, they actually are the opposite sex? Particularly when under law (thank you Maya) you are perfectly entitled to view someone by their sex and state your own perceptions when they contradict someone else's.

The phrase 'hate crime' is now as mangled and empty of sense or meaning as the word 'kind' or 'inclusive' when used by this political lobby. And while going to court over it will be two years of expensive hell, the court case will be a laugh a minute and will end very predictably. Reality is not against the law.

fedupandstuck · 06/12/2023 12:44

Women, nor Sunak for that matter, are not responsible for the hurt feelings or disappointment of transwomen. Having hurt feelings or being disappointed is your personal issue to deal with. It's not a hate crime or any kind of hateful conduct.

I really think people have read 1984, not as a warning, but as a manual

KatBurglar · 06/12/2023 13:03

Petra De Sitter’s struggles with biological reality are not problems other people have to accommodate.

Sex is immutable in mammals. Woman is the words for female human adults like vixen is for female fox adults.

HermioneWeasley · 06/12/2023 13:05

Did the Home Office really say that politicians stating facts are responsible for an increase in hate crimes? That seems unlikely.

this sort of transperbole is what is switching so many people off their cause.

Apparently so.... Pink news reported it!

https://www.thepinknews.com/2023/10/06/uk-government-hate-crimes-lgbtq-trans-rishi-sunak/

I have archived it in archive dot is.

The reality is that Pink News said the Home Office admitted it may have been a contributing factor with no link to the original source of that admission.

From Pink News: "In a briefing outlining new hate crime figures for the UK, the Home Office said that transgender issues had been “heavily discussed by politicians, the media and on social media” over the last year, which it said “may have led to an increase in these offences.”

Politicians may have contributed to rise in anti-trans hate crime, says Home Office

The UK government is failing to tackle the epidemic of anti-LGBTQ+ hate crimes by dehumanising trans people, which “legitimises violence”.

This all reminds me of the folktale The Emperors New Clothes written by Hans Christian Andersen which tells the story about an emperor who tells his subjects something that is the opposite of what they saw.
He was convinced by his tailors that his new clothes could be seen and paraded around seeking affirmation from his subjects. If the emperor’s tailors could not convince the people by use of propaganda, then they resorted to intimidation and non-believers were labelled as being phobic. Those who claimed to see his new clothes were actually just sheep not wanting to be branded as phobic, instead wanting to be seen as progressive. So they went along with the Emperor’s claims saying they were able to see the clothing, while heaping affirmations onto the emperor.

OneMorePlant · 06/12/2023 13:21

De Sutter is a vile man. He's a gynaecologist and tried to get surrogacy laws passed in the EU that were so awful for women they were quickly dismissed.

Last year a lot of mainstream media excitedly declared that the first time in history Belgium had more women than men in the federal government (20 ministers). They announced it as 11 women and 9 men. De Sutter is in the federal government and ofcourse they counted him as a woman. I was fuming for weeks.

No one voted for him. Staes was the top bill of the Groen party but he resigned and left his spot to De Sutter.

CorruptedCauldron · 06/12/2023 13:23

Yes, the trans lobby would have garnered so much more sympathy if they hadn’t tried to queer reality and make two and two equal five. They could have said look, these people have dysphoria, they’re suffering, they need to change their gender presentation to feel comfortable in their own skin. They know they’re still their birth sex, no matter how they look on the outside, and they respect that sex matters in society, and laws are based around it. When accessing single-sex facilities and spaces, they will use those that align with their birth sex. Just let them present as they wish and don’t be unkind to them.

How easy would that be?

StephanieSuperpowers · 06/12/2023 13:23

I really think this hyperbole isn't helping their cause. If I'm now also a hate criminal for stating the perfectly obvious and uncontroversial to the vast, vast majority of the world for all time, how much worse can I get? Does it matter what I say from this point anymore?

Helleofabore · 06/12/2023 13:26

Hootys link is to MSN which is a pink news article too.

I have also stuck it in archive dot is as well for anyone who would prefer to read an archived version.

ColonelSpondleClagnut · 06/12/2023 13:37

Annoyingly, nobody ever includes the second half of that quote Transgender issues have been heavily discussed by politicians, the media and on social media over the last year, which may have led to an increase in these offences, or more awareness in the police in the identification and recording of these crimes.

The whole report states that the figures don't necessarily show a rise in (any sort of) hate crime, but rather differences over time in people reporting them and how they are recorded.

The one thing I’ve noticed with this ridiculous ‘confirming biological reality is hate speech’ rhetoric is that it’s riled many women who previously would never have considered themselves political or feminist. I know so many everyday women who have just been happily getting on with their lives, all this stuff going over their heads, who are now saying ‘wtf - enough’ and fighting in the GC corner.

Our company asked us to add pronouns voluntarily to our emails and I’m proud to say absolutely no one in our department has chosen to

Probably because hate crime now means calling a biological man ‘he’ or taking a photo of a GC sticker or liking a tweet.

Hurty man feelings = recorded as hate crime

Late onset feminism. It's highly contagious.

And yes, the quickest way to catch it is to listen to a transactactivist.

I'm a one woman crime wave.

MrsTwatInAHat · 06/12/2023 21:50

a man is a man, and a woman is a woman

Another odd thing is that by objecting to this statement, TRAs are saying that they don't think TW are women or TM are men. If they did, they would have no issue with it. The logical conclusion of thinking it's wrong to say this, is that you believe a non-woman can be a woman, etc.

You being a lesbian who is attracted to naturally born women does not preclude transwomen from identifying as women. You are not obligated to be attracted to them, and nor is it hate or homophobia.

Only 9.4% of transwomen are straight, ie. attracted to women, so for the vast majority of them you don't have the right equipment so you are getting worked up over nothing.

It is fact that you cannot change sex. However, most (probably nearly all) trans people don’t claim to have changed sex. They claim to have changed gender.
It isn’t a hate crime to state your opinion, but it is a hate crime to abuse/discriminate against people who are trans.

Where are you getting 9.4% from ? Source?

I thought most of the later transitioning transwonen were attracted to women

@DC1888 so equipment matters ? or does it?

KinS24 · 07/12/2023 06:08

Bit dismissive DC. I am not a lesbian but they are affected by, for example, their dating sites including trans women.
Other people have feelings too.

NonanteNeuf · 07/12/2023 06:09

I hate the way they lump LGB and the rest of the alphabet together.

LGB - Sexual Orientation
T+ the rest - Gender Identity and its accompanying batshit politics.

It’s wildly homophobic to group them together.
