Men identifying as trans yes, should not be discriminated against, although the longer this goes on, experience and evidence is stacking up that 'identifying' as a woman is not just a self expressing, harmless, lovely thing to do that should be automatically protected.
But the problem with having nicely, kindly offered 'honorary woman status' was that it went with the expectation that no one would take the piss and push it to the point of wrecking women's sports, equality, rights and safety. And that you would expect a male who insisted they were a woman on actually having some care and consideration for the sex class in question.
Create third spaces by all means. But 'including' men in women's spaces and categories and words excludes some women from anything so that men can have everything. You will these days here some T activists righteously telling you that 'sometimes to include means excluding'. Yes. They're right. And the priority of a woman's space or facility or sport or resource is that it is accessible and inclusive of all female people.
