To set the scene, I’m a middle aged mum of three, left leaning, fully GC, old enough to know better, and yet, against my better judgement I find myself liking the following a little more than I should.

Laurence Fox. I’m rewatching Lewis, and I enjoy him in this so much. Maybe it’s the show I’m enjoying, or the character he plays, but either way, I can’t get enough. Except when he’s being a smart arse.

Sam Smith. I love his music. Anything and everything, I must confess. His style of music is nothing at all like I usually enjoy, I’m more alternative/indie like Imagine Dragons, Green Day, the Smiths, or R & B like Beyoncé, Alicia Keyes, Mary J Blige as well as oldies Luther, Ella, Anita Baker. I don’t know if I’m categorising these correctly, but you know what I mean. But anyway, my 12 yr old and I blast Sam Smith on the school run, and I don’t see this changing.

Now I used to have a tiny crush on Russell Brand, however this week wiped that out completely.

Ah, I feel a bit better now.

I don’t like the tea cakes but I love Tunnock’s caramel wafers - does that count?

I could never stand Sam Smith's awful caterwauling but I do quite like his new one, Unholy.

I also enjoy Ian Fleming books (but I'm not interested in watching the films).

I still occasionally listen to Lostprophets.
Also dislike Tunnock's tea cakes.

I’m not boycotting Marks and Spencers

In fact I’m struggling to think of what they could do that would induce me to boycott them

erm…invade Poland possibly?

And I bloody love Joanne Harris’s writing and think she’s a compelling writer of rare talent

My music of choice is Rammstein, Drowning Pool, Metallica, Slayer, Megadeath, Pantera etc etc.

However, I also really like MmmBop by Hansen because it's so cheerful, can remember all the lyrics (and dance moves) to '5, 6, 7, 8' by Steps and love a good singalong to 'I Want It That Way' by the Backstreet Boys.

Have been out of the loop and hadn't seen that before - that's depressing. Yet another abusive man and the fact there seems to have been multiple members of staff/entourage enabling him is shocking.

There was something about Josh Homme too, but that seems to have gone away.

I think Noah Finnce is brilliant and I love his music. I would really like to go to his gig in Brighton but he would probably hate having a middle aged, terfy lesbian dancing to his music.

Although I think these lyrics are pretty poignant for someone who has transitioned young.

After reading other contributions to the thread and how it’s develope, can you concede that the earlier comments, some of which have been deleted because of breaking guidelines, were uncalled for?

And if you think a thread is “daft”, just move right along.

My vision is misbehaving so I thought @pickledandpuzzled hadn’t voted until they were 80; @CeratopsofthePharoahs was for some reason bent on converting a nun to her musical choices; & @BernardBlacksMolluscs might be going to invade Poland with M&S.

It may perhaps be past my bedtime.

Lawrence fox is a complete muppet, putting his kids on twitter in black face cemented that fact, along with his recent podcast with James dellingpole, who he was also a twat to despite them being friends.

I think David Attenborough is a hypocritical muppet, wanking on about the environment when he is old and has lived such a rich life. Fuck off and die already, your carbon footprint is several millions more than mine sanctimonious twat.

On the contrary, this thread could have evolved many ways. If no one had raised any opposition then the thread would not have evolved into its light hearted stance.

You can still see guilt tarnishing in some of the posts!
