In the context of growing uncertainty and anxiety surrounding trans-inclusive practice in the cultural sector, the University of Leicester’s Research Centre for Museums and Galleries (RCMG) – working with a team of legal scholars and experts in inclusion, equality and ethics – has developed comprehensive guidance on advancing trans inclusion for museums, galleries, archives and heritage organisations. The guidance is supported by the Economic and Social Research Council.

Both Leicester council and Leicester Uni (and de Montfort) are entirely captured. Does not surprise me at all that they put 'trans' rights above any care for women.

This is at the v&a Dundee.
I think there is a tiny class of people who curate museums and are obsessed by this.

Sausagenbacon, thanks for the photo of the V+A exhibit notice. Wow.

"You’ll find the word “queer” in some of our labels. The word “queer” has a complicated history and many still find it offensive. We use it because . . .”

Because WHAT??!! Because fuck all the gay people, who cares about them? Because we don’t care about people who’ve had this thrown at them as an insult, or as part of a homophobic attack? Because we think older gay people who are offended are probably just bigots; who cares that they lived through the AIDS crisis and the homophobia of the time?

FFS V+A Dundee, what are you trying to say here?!?

"We know some people find it offensive but we're more progressive and enlightened than them."

Some people in the lgbt+++++ community, particularly the spicy straights, have re claimed it.

And that’s who we want onside.
