That's a cracking letter - well evidenced with a mix of resercrh and personal experience. Well done to them. I like this:
We should not be coerced into using biologically incorrect pronouns for classmates, and we must not be punished for refusing to do so. However, at this current time, according to Policy Exchange almost 70% of schools force other students to participate in a gender-distressed child’s “transition” – this has to change, and we are not going to stand for this destruction of our freedom of speech and belief.

Asleep at the Wheel - Policy Exchange

Download Publication   Online Reader A new report by Policy Exchange today reveals that schools are increasingly becoming influenced by gender ideology, to the extent that fundamental safeguarding principles are being compromised by school’s approach...

Well done those girls, that's a great letter. This jumped out at me We deserve privacy whilst in vulnerable positions, for instance while getting changed, and our rights are destroyed when you bring boys into the equation because that's exactly it, their (our) rights are being destroyed and schools are enabling it.

literalviolence · 23/06/2023 14:27

Awesome letter girls! I am very glad that people are starting to speak up about just how much bullying is taking place from and because of the gender ideology movement. It's clear male supremacy.

Datun · 23/06/2023 14:39

As well as this, teachers must remain neutral when discussing this topic in lessons – we’ve also both experienced times when biased teachers attempt to implicate gender ideology in innocuous topics, for instance claiming that Zeus, the Greek God, was “non-binary”, or that Lady Macbeth was “gender-fluid”.

Fucking hell, Zeus now? It's such obvious claptrap, it's still difficult to believe it's actually happening.

Teachers also shouldn’t be asking students their pronouns, especially on the basis of non-conformity, or their sexuality / sexual preference, both of which raises major safeguarding concerns.

Jesus. How have we got to the point where children are desperately trying to safeguard themselves - from their own teachers.

Mochudubh · 23/06/2023 14:47

To be fair, Zeus was known to identify as bulls and swans and things but only to get in the pants of some unsuspecting mortal woman.

Hijinks75 · 23/06/2023 14:49

Very well written letter, needs the education secretary to act on it, the very small but incredibly vocal minority that is the transgender activists are making it impossible for people to have any view but there’s, if this was a political party insisting there was no truth but there’s, the country would be demanding it be gagged

Fenlandia · 23/06/2023 14:50

Zeus/Jupiter is non-binary? I must have missed that in my Homer and Virgil. Still, as we saw on the "gender identity as religion" thread, co-opting the deities of other religions is indeed a mark of a religion.

SinnerBoy · 23/06/2023 14:55

I suppose a more obvious fantasy co-option would have been Achilles, he at least dressed as a woman and hid in the women's tent!

greenstrawberry · 23/06/2023 14:58

I believe Mercury is seen as the more androgynous god. Not heard it about Zeus, except for the one where he turned into a swan as PP mentioned above (he was also bisexual I believe).

That's a good letter but I don't believe for a second that it was written by two 14-year old girls

God, nothing changes, does it! 😁

TheGreatATuin · 23/06/2023 15:02

Brilliant letter. I have so much admiration for the girls speaking up against gender extremism.
Now, that really is stunning and brave. Good for them ❤

The UK has an average reading age of NINE years old. It's perfectly possible for 14 year old girls who know a topic well, to be able to write like this. Probably, most politicians can't write as well as GCSE students.

It’ll have been written by the campaign organisation but it will be based on their views and they will have seen it (well that’s how it should work anyway).

Babdoc · 23/06/2023 15:19

My DD - IQ of 166 - was able to write like that when even younger. She wrote her first story at the age of 3, corrected her teacher’s spelling at 5, organised a school animal rights protest at 9, and won an essay writing competition at 10.
Not all teenagers are knuckle draggers!

HipTightOnions · 23/06/2023 15:21

It may or may not be their wording - although some teenagers are hugely articulate - but the experience is definitely theirs.

ResisterRex · 23/06/2023 15:22

It will be a shame if another thread is derailed by whether or not it happened. In this case: whether or not two 14yo girls wrote this.

There is no reason at all to disbelieve that they did. Every reason though - if your mission is to destroy girls' sports, spaces, and abilities - to say it wasn't written by them. Because that means the content won't get discussed.

There seem to be no conditions under which women and girls can discuss the impact of gender ideology. Funny, that.

I'm sure it's been overseen. But the point is it relays their experience of censorship and punishment for holding a legal opinion, and for wanting single sex spaces.

I have absolutely no trouble believing that the vast majority of schoolgirls feel exactly as portrayed in that letter. Nor that there are significant number of them who could easily have written it verbatim, actually.

Perhaps they got some help. Do you think TRA young campaigners don't? What's your point?

BernardBlacksMolluscs · 23/06/2023 15:26

It reads to me as very much in the voice of teenage girls. If they didn’t at least produce the first draft I’d be astonished

it’s well evidenced and I suspect they may have had some help with that

LakeTiticaca · 23/06/2023 15:35

Brilliant and awe inspiring.

If it wasn't actually written by two 14 year old girls I'm pretty sure many girls are in the situation that their rights are being trashed.
Well done girls we need more young women to speak up and stop all this nonsense!!

Me neither. That has been written by very knowledgeable adult(s). And I think that's a shame - there is enough deceit around this issue - let's not add more.

MrsOvertonsWindow · 23/06/2023 16:06

Go and take a look at English essays writing by high achieving year 9 student. I know a number who could produce this - with research and advice.

MrsOvertonsWindow · 23/06/2023 16:09

And frankly, compared to the deceit of gaslighting the whole population that men can magically become women, puberty blockers are harmless and that anyone who speaks about facts and science is a dog whistling bigot, even if they did get some adult assistance, it fades into insignificance given the wholesale lies and deceit we're up against.
