At public school Wellington College next month. Not ‘Suzy’ but referred to as ‘she’ in the blurb.

Given the huge proportion of single-sex schools in the independent sector, it might be interesting to know what EI is going to say at this.

Sorry, side issue but the picture with the mug is ridiculous. He can't have drunk from it like that without spilling it down himself or going through weird contortions (perhaps he had hiccups?). If he wanted to make the point 'look I'm a woman! See, lipstick!'. Then it would have been on the inside of the cup, which can be seen in the photo! Unless I'm womaning wrong, and you're only supposed to put lippy on your bottom lip? Perhaps Izzard doesn't engage his top lip when he's drinking?

People are spending £45,000 a year to have their daughters share changing rooms with men.

Why would they invite/pay Izzard to speak at this? Surely attendees will be there to talk about schools and education. Eddie doesn't have any expertise to offer does he? Apart from having once been a schoolboy.

Aside from the trans nonsense, he has zero experience or knowledge of education. What a weird choice for keynote speaker.

Just read the write up. How utterly insulting to boys and girls who have faced terrible homophobia in school, to be represented by a straight man.

@GrumpyPanda - what happened next is that they continued to use the women's communal changing rooms, even though a lot of women complained and even though school girls at the £45,000/year school use the changing rooms after the class finishes. Sorry to keep mentioning the fees but I think it's absolutely outrageous that there is an adult male in the school changing rooms at what is supposed to be one of the best schools in the country.

Anyway, I digress. As there are a lot of women in the class and only a couple of men, the arrangement is that the women can also use the men's changing rooms near the pool and the handful of men use different changing rooms by the squash courts. Except for Vikki.

Vikki uses the pool women's changing rooms on their own meaning that all the women have decamped to the men's changing rooms and are squashed in together. I wish I were joking.

Apparently they are building a unisex disabled changing room and Vikki will use that in future.

‘Watch out she has a flag.’ Is this a reference to a routine like, ‘death or cake?’ Can’t have much experience of education in recent years. Can’t see the wisdom of this choice unless was only comedian with space in the diary who fits the category.

I had training with a TW and I was struck by the strong lipstick marks they left on their mug. Almost like recreating a particular experience from their formative years perhaps?

I go every year - they seem to be struggling to sell tickets this year. They always have non education speakers. Rory Bremner spoke about ADHD etc

So a heterosexual man is going to talk about what? How difficult it is realising that you get turned on wearing women's clothing? What's that got to do with being same sex attracted?

He might be happy but why are we expected to share his delusion that he's a woman? Should the 15 year old girls he shared women's loos with have been happy too or were they quite right to tell him they were uncomfortable?

I leave lipstick marks on my cups. It's handy to know whose cup is whose!
