I've just watched it. And although I am probably one of the women who believe Kathleen Stock is too moderate, I thought it was superb.
A lot of these students quite clearly have no idea about safeguarding, or the implications of ignoring it. Or the statistical likelihood of a male, however he identifies, of being a sex offender.
They also have no idea how to explain what gender is, or what trans is.
There was an hilarious bit, which seemed to stretch on interminably, where the convener, Matthew, babbled incoherently. Which, given he's clearly articulate, was very revealing. And, I have to say, highly rewarding 😄
Kathleen's stance seemed to be, it's not that I disagree with transgenderism, is that I disagree with self ID and the legal implications. Because of all these ways you can exploit it.
And that reality is important, of course.
Which, in my opinion, is almost impossible to argue against, unless you are a complete fanatic.
It will definitely sway a lot of people. And outraged transactivists will do the rest.
These students have seen, with their own eyes, that Kathleen stock is not some awful, bigoted hater.
They are going to start wondering why they thought that in the first place.
