Feminism: Sex and gender discussions

So they didn't publicise this at the time? His team-mates and the coach etc knew but no one else? He is a cheat.

MerlinsLostMarbles · 12/05/2023 19:46

Was it really necessary to put a target circle around her head? Almost as if they are saying "this one right here, attack her".

Dougalskeeper · 12/05/2023 19:47

It's a 'him' marbles

And when have feminists physically assaulted TRAs, Merlin? Please provide references.

Probably not necessary as quite obviously a man

Do you say that every time someone circles a person in a picture to show who they are referring to or just when you are trying to disingenuously stir up trouble?

howdoesatoastermaketoast · 12/05/2023 19:59

apparently no-one felt empowered to ask questions or say no

MrsOvertonsWindow · 12/05/2023 20:39

A woman loses a team place and subsequent sports sponsorship and all lostmarbles frets about is a circle in a photo.
Given the dismissal of VAWG elsewhere we should probably be thankful that's all the current whinge is about.

'His head',he's a bloke.

MrsJamin · 12/05/2023 21:47

"Sarah" Gibson wrote this piece of codswallop www.varsity.co.uk/comment/6028 - weird to think this was 10 years ago and the ay "trans*" is written, what a difference a decade makes. It's still all bullshit though - after transition, apparently physiology is indistinguishable 😂😂😂

The whole team are cheats surely? Disappointing that no-one felt able to speak up. They should have stood up as one and said no.

MerlinsLostMarbles · 12/05/2023 22:02

Also to point out we're discussing a transwoman talking part in an event that took place 8 years ago.

And for what it's worth, the team the transwoman was on didn't actually win.

TrashyPanda · 12/05/2023 22:10

So yet another woman was denied a place in favour of a man

this isn’t equality.

this definitely isn’t “being a good sport”

turbonerd · 12/05/2023 22:22

Keep up Merlin. You are deadgendering the person who is now «non-binary».

Like that chsp who used to be «non-binary» but is now a man, but those years will forever stay with him. Well, duh, yeah unless he died a nonbinary death and got resurrected as a completely New person… which could happen because he is just sooo special I guess.

HereForTheFreeLunch · 12/05/2023 22:24

Sure, it's only one, so long ago, didn't even win etc etc etc. Except it's one wherever we look.
Men cheating and stealing women's places.

So normal practice to highlight something in a photo is a concern to you?

But in the other thread you are trying to downplay a threat of decapitation of TERFs?

You might be using something of a double standard?

I do this at work - here is the guy who will be joining our team. Or you need to click this arrow here before the report will generate. Perhaps I should go back and send out some disclaimers- dear all, I’d like to clarify the marked up image I sent out last week. In no way am I recommending you use the new joiner for target shooting. I actively do not support target shooting of new team members. Also, if you recall the tips I sent on generating the new report, please do not target shoot at our reporting system. Do not target shoot at your laptop. My humblest apologies if I have accidentally communicated that shooting at any of these things/people is recommended.

would that be helpful do you think? In case they are all confused like you?

Codlingmoths · 13/05/2023 05:10

Oh now I’ve read the full thread I guess my apology / clarification should add please note you should of course feel welcome to decapitate new joiners. Or the reporting system. That is (as you should know) supported behaviour aligned with our culture. Thanks and have a great day!

subsxribed · 13/05/2023 05:33

She won’t be part of that club. And I think that’s a shame. I feel for her.

Absolute shame for the real woman that missed out on this spot. Selfish entitled male wading in and taking whatever they want.

subsxribed · 13/05/2023 05:37

This is the guy - do fuck off you do not belong in women's sport. You were born a man.

Claims of unfair advantages aren’t just shown to be groundless by studies of actual athletes, medical research is also against them. After a short period of hormone replacement therapy (HRT), trans people are completely physiologically similar to their cisgender counterparts. Everything from the haemoglobin content of their blood to their muscle sizes are within normal human variation. Side effects from HRT, such as weight gain, can actually place trans people at a disadvantage to other athletes, though this thought rarely crosses people’s minds.

As for cheating, in the entire 40 year history of sex verification procedures in international sport competitions, no instances of such ‘fraud’ have ever been found.

nilsmousehammer · 13/05/2023 07:35

I'm baffled by this whole 'you must not look at or draw attention to the person busy fucking you over' thing.

Obsequiousness to male people using female ones is not really at the top of my list of priorities. Call me whatever names you feel like calling me for that, it says more about your misogyny than anything else.

ControversialOpening · 13/05/2023 09:05

“I wanted to take part in the Boat Race since I was a small kid and I was delighted when I got the chance”

should be: “As I wasn’t good enough to get in the men’s squad I was delighted to take away the opportunity from a woman who has probably dreamed of this since she was a small kid.”

”I wouldn’t have been able to enjoy it or reach my full potential without such an inclusive environment.”

should read: “The man-favouring environment meant a woman was unable to enjoy it or reach her full potential”

Was it really necessary for this man to cheat a woman out of a place in the boat race?

ControversialOpening · 13/05/2023 09:10

There is a poster on this thread whose absolute contempt for women becomes more obvious with each comment.

puffyisgood · 13/05/2023 09:12

the cocked this one up.

contrast the clarity and precision of the eligibility rule for the men's lightweight boat race: "For the men's race the average weight of the crew must not exceed 70 kg (154.3 lb / 11 st 0.3 lb), with no rower weighing over 72.5 kg (159.8 lb / 11 st 5.8 lb)."

with whatever rubbish passes for an eligibility rule for the women's boat race" 'er... be kind (to men)?'
