Credit Suisse and Pip Bunce

Newsweek magazine have chosen to zone in on Pip’s gender fluidity in light of them being a powerful Executive at Credit Suisse.

I'm not entirely sure how/whether Pip is personally responsible in any way for the CS recent downturn but no doubt it might prove a distraction to your day-to-day job if you have to wake up and decide whether you want to be a man or a woman at the office today.

No doubt some of their detractors on social media might be unsavoury types but I just thought it was interesting for a high profile publication to give publicity to this particular individual. I think there’s an implication that the company has become distracted from its core objectives. This could of course be a case of scapegoating. But sunlight is sunlight…

Interesting
Wasn't commenting on Bunce in twitter what first caused the issue for Maya?
I wonder if all the male professionals making these comments about Bunce are in danger now of losing their jobs?

MissPollysFitDolly · 18/03/2023 14:06

In a tweet that has been viewed more than 5 million times since being shared on Thursday, Schachtel wrote: "The head of global markets at Credit Suisse is a mentally ill "gender fluid" man who sometimes believes he wakes up as a woman.

No woman would ever get away with that! (Jordan Schachtel is an investigative journalist and writer).

DameMaud · 18/03/2023 14:24

Exactly! Hope Billy Bragg I'd giving him an earful right now

Hepwo · 18/03/2023 15:27

He's not the Head of Global Markets though, he's IT (unsurprisingly).

The journalist is making assumptions about a misunderstood job title. Bunce is a back office tech manager, not a banker. He can't do much damage!

It's a bit misguided!

ChateauMargaux · 18/03/2023 15:46

Geez.. women would be doxxed, hounded and have death threats if they tweets this..

and yeah... not too clever are they - not head of global markets.... head of global markets core engineering strategic programs - still an important job but not head of global markets...

ReunitedThorns · 18/03/2023 17:47

Pips wanted a bust, but instead Credit Suisse went bust.

TooBigForMyBoots · 18/03/2023 18:22

So Pip's lack of connection to reality had consequences for the people who trusted their money to him?

Doh!

nepeta · 18/03/2023 18:59

Pip only found their genderfluidness when they had worked long enough in expensive men's suits performing masculinity to have a nice nest egg stashed away and a higher echelon job.

At that point becoming Pippa on some weekdays was almost a riskless move. It tells something of the society that Pip/Pippa can now be viewed as teetering on the top of the oppression hierarchy and worthy of all sorts inclusion awards.

Doh!

Nobody trusted money to him. He managers computer systems!

raspberrywine · 18/03/2023 19:38

What a bizarre article. It's like 2 different reports mashed together - one about share prices and one about Pip.

BluebellBlueballs · 18/03/2023 19:49

Ah yes, Pips 'bring your fetish to work day' Bunce.

He can wear that awful pink dress and fishnet stockings in his spare time can't believe his employer is so keen to show wokeness that they not only allow, but encourage and celebrate him publicising his fetish at work.

BluebellBlueballs · 18/03/2023 19:56

How do you think CS manage their money without the use of systems??

Needmoresleep · 18/03/2023 22:31

I seem to remember, from the era when Pips was being feted and won some woman in finance award, that Pips was mentoring the Credit Suisse board.

I had assumed that it was virtue signalling hogwash. Perhaps not.

DisillusionedTech · 18/03/2023 23:02

City job titles are vastly over inflated compared to their actual responsibility. Pips will be ‘bonding with’ grossing out the few women in IT in CS (if there’s any women left by now)

WhereYouLeftIt · 19/03/2023 01:57

"Director/Head of Global Markets Technology Core Engineering Strategic Programs"

Geez but that's a mouthful and a half! And means that you have to guess at what he actually does. Director = high up, but the the rest of it sounds as if it's in a very narrow specific field. But for an investment bank, that very narrow specific field could be the very core of their business. 'Strategic Programs' does suggest it could be an important area.

And as @BluebellBlueballs said, a bank can't manage their money without their computer systems. In particular, they can't respond to changing market conditions without a nimble set of systems and an effective team of programmers, so a crap IT department could really affect business.

Pip is a high profile, much lauded asset and employee of CS.

So, usually transwomen gets lots of attention, publicity and opportunities without any particular reason apart from being trans)….

and now, in a massive financial disaster, a transwoman is getting a lot of attention and publicity (but this time negative and no opportunities) without any particular reason apart from being trans….?

Shelefttheweb · 19/03/2023 08:44

“Gender fluid” = fetish that his coworkers are forced to participate in.

Regardless of his specific role, CS have hardly kept quiet about him. He has been presented as a face of CS which indicates something about the views of the board.

This.

Attention-seeker gets attention, sounds good to me!

mach2 · 19/03/2023 09:35

Wasn't he nominated for a women-in-business type award?

Yes. Presumably it would have had to go in the cupboard on days when Bunce felt more like Philip than Philippa.

Justjuniper · 19/03/2023 12:04

‘Wrong breeds decay and involves ruin, but the true and the good have about them a vitality which ages cannot diminish’.
This quote from Charles Spurgeon seems very apt when applied to the actions of those fighting to protect and stand up for women and girls against such appalling cruelty and lies - we’re definitely on the RSOH.
