Thanks @EndlessTea , is this being livestreamed anywhere?

EndlessTea · 11/03/2023 01:30

This is currently live in Sydney

BoreOfWhabylon · 11/03/2023 01:36

Oh, just posted on another thread!
Will stay on this one Smile

EndlessTea · 11/03/2023 01:40

Seems like the women in Sydney don’t need asking twice to speak!

BoreOfWhabylon · 11/03/2023 03:38

Well done Sydney women, Sydney police and KJK!
The massive security men sheltering from the sun under bright pink Adult human female and green white and purple striped suffragette umbrellas just cracked me up! Grin

OnlyTheWeedsGrow · 11/03/2023 04:56

Did they end up with the riot police there? I have a dreadful headache and will watch the stream later, but I hope there was no violence or drowning out of the women speaking.

Helleofabore · 11/03/2023 05:53

I just watched the feed and it looked like the Police kept a goodly distance between the groups. And the women were left to speak uninterrupted.

It was awesome to watch. And heaps of speakers and I think the women would have just kept coming up.

If anyone pops by who attended or spoke, well done !! Bloody brilliant !

GlorianaCervixia · 11/03/2023 06:15

I was there today and it was amazing. Fantastic to listen to so many women - left-wing, conservative, Christian, atheist, straight, lesbian - talking and supporting each other.

The police were also great and kept the TRA protestors a long way away so they were no bother to us. We all had a good laugh when the TRA's brought out their crack team of... Morris dancers.

So grateful to KJK and all the women who organised the event today.

FebName · 11/03/2023 06:53

How many approx attended do you think? It looked like a lot were sheltering in the shade.

EndlessTea · 11/03/2023 07:11

Well done! I just watched the end this morning.

How amazing to see everyone show up like that. So much to say.

I am so glad KJK’s words and those of all the speakers were able to be heard so well, and their messages were so clear.

I am, of course, waiting for the captured media to report on all the “hate” KJK platformed (of which there was none)!

BananaBender · 11/03/2023 08:27

They reported on the apparent hate and transphobia from KJK on the Channel 10 Queensland 5pm news.

I thought it was rather ironic when a young trans man said people wanted to eliminate trans people considering that trans people are doing a pretty good job of that themselves by destroying their fertility.

Plasmodesmata · 11/03/2023 10:05

I saw the Morris dancers have posted on a Facebook Morris dancing page and have many likes for dancing in protest of the "anti-trans rally".

Boiledbeetle · 11/03/2023 10:15

Just awoken. I shall watch now whilst I come round

Boiledbeetle · 11/03/2023 10:23

In Australia, wearing polyester and KJK is having to identify as someone who doesn't sweat!

It looks glorious over there, I would be a pool of overheated liquid on the floor by now!

Brisbane has been having temps in the mid-30s, with some rain and humidity too, so KJK might want to pass on the polyester in Qld!

Lols. Like LGB, you do realise that trans is not hereditary.....

What they do to their own bodies to feel comfortable in life, is not going to impact future trans people being born.....

Villagetoraiseachild · 11/03/2023 12:52

Thanks @EndlessTea ! Watched it through, just surfaced, cant rock an allnighter these days but it was worth staying up for.

Those women were more than ready to unleash, no need to wind them up!
They were dynamite!

Brissy next but cant watch live, will watch Sunday arvo.

I really hope someone brings a decent parasol/popup gazebo thing from now on and that they break out the kaftans.
For polyesters sake, they're in Asia, it's midday and 31 degrees....
.Mad dogs n Englishmen go out in the midday etcetera
Am feeling fried just watching them!
Bit jeal not to be there tho.......

Eek, did you laugh out loud at people destroying their fertility for this ideology?

I mean, crikey. Saying the quiet thing out loud again.

BananaBender · 11/03/2023 13:05

Australia not Asia. We’re our own continent here. Australasia or Oceania but not Asia.

Can confirm that the humidity in Brisbane has been bullshit today and it’s been showering rain on and off making it even worse. Natural fabrics only and wear some clinical strength antiperspirant.

Hopefully the Queensland Police will keep everything under control as well as the NSW Police did today.

Boiledbeetle · 11/03/2023 16:13

I was glad to see the police kept the protesters away.

I was saddened to discover how bad it's got for women in Australia

Tricyrtis2022 · 11/03/2023 16:25

I've been watching the Sydney event. Small but enthusiastic crowd and some very good speakers. Good to see a wide range in ages too. The first woman made a good point - she said that tw clearly don't really want to be women because then they'd be expected to sit down and shut up. Spot on.

I sent a link to the Glasgow event to a friend in her 80s, after she told me that she wants to get involved but was concerned that it would be all young women and she'd be regarded as too old. She was extremely pleased to find that there are many older women involved, something that shouldn't surprise us as older women have fewer fucks to give.

nepeta · 11/03/2023 16:58

Good to hear it went well.

I think we should start calling all trans activism 'anti-women' activism, because clearly this way of framing things is acceptable the other way round.
