Slightly off topic but related, yesterday I saw I really anti KJK article in the Daily Mail. Not sure that the DM has an actual policy towards her but the done is really hostile and quite contradictory to other articles.

I watched some of it this morning.
Go Aussie women.
I have family there but have to be very careful about what I say to them, however I know a couple definitely are in agreement.

It’s 7:33 am Sunday morning in Brisbane right now. Just be aware that in Brisbane we don’t have Daylight Saving but in almost every other state and territory in Australia they do. Normally there’s 3 different time zones across the country but there’s at least 4 during Daylight Saving.

It’s a grey and humid day so far. More light rain overnight. Umbrellas or raincoats needed. If it doesn’t rain then the umbrellas can be used for shade.

I’m not going. I’m too chicken. My DH would have a fit. He doesn’t get it about protecting women’s rights. Anyway I tested positive to Covid today so no going out for me.

The coverage you have read is absolutely the stance of the media here in Australia. The mainstream media here is completely captured, as are politicians. The people attempting to get KJK’s visa blocked were Green Party politicians. KJK is absolutely not getting anything like fair coverage or truthful reporting.

Just to say if anyone is close to Brisbane and trying to decide whether to go, I would highly recommend it.

I went to my first one this year and was bricking it, but it was brilliant, very well stewarded and the police were great at keeping the protest far apart from the speakers.

The speakers were inspirational and courageous and it's really obvious where to stand if you don't want to be filmed.
You can always wear a mask and shades if you fear it may compromise your friendships or income.

It's a really friendly, supportive and heartwarming event.

Those really irresponsible and inaccurate Daily Mail articles were apparently written by a very young writer who also writes about Kit-Kats.

As I have far more experience/ exposure to both KJK and Kit-Kats, I'm happily better qualified to form a more authentic opinion.

I felt so sorry for the Commonwealth/Olympian weight lifter. How demoralised she must have felt going up against a man in a women's event.

And will admit I did, as I do every time I hear it sung by a crowd of women, shed a tear during the song at the end.

The song at the end was very moving.....
