The Defence Science & Tech laboratory @dstlmod has chosen one of their male scientists to be the face of international women and girls in science day.

Jeepers creepers. Is the most polite thing I can say. What an absolute piss take.

ErrolTheDragon · 16/02/2023 12:57

Oh FFSAngry

CatChant · 16/02/2023 13:01

Orwellian.

Grumpybutfunny · 16/02/2023 13:01

Urgh as a woman in science I really wish they would stop with gender based awards, it's not a shock a woman is in STEM. Looking at our lab more than 80% of the senior staff are female. We actually say poor X as he's often the only man in the room.

Imnobody4 · 16/02/2023 13:12

The good news is they've closed replies on their Twitter thread.
It's really taking some organisations a long time to catch up.

If they've closed off the thread to replies then they know its wrong to promote a man as a woman but they don't care.

Absolutely fucking awesome.

picklemewalnuts · 16/02/2023 13:35

What's spectacularly stupid about this, is the outrage among genderists about the suggestion women are disadvantaged by trans identifying men in their spaces. You can argue til the cows come home about some conflicts but surely in competition it's obvious women have in fact lost out?

I mean if there's a TIM getting an award, then there's a woman missing out. It's inarguable. There is no subtlety to it. If they want any plausibility to their argument they need to stop make born people getting women's awards. Doh!

Kucinghitam · 16/02/2023 13:43

I did like this in the replies though.

So true. Awful. One woman commented she tried to join and couldn’t…because she’s a woman.

quantumbutterfly · 16/02/2023 13:45

Did someone say 'phallusy' ?

Truthlikeness · 16/02/2023 13:48

I suspect there is a large part of the armed forces secretly relieved that they can now employ male women and still look inclusive, rather than the annoying female kind.

They hid loads of responses strangely.

Wings Over Scotland not pulling any punches with his response Grin

HootyMcboob76 · 16/02/2023 14:01

At this point it's just so much virtue signalling fucking bullcrap.

So there really AREN'T enough women working in the field of science to be able to fill all the places? Really??

Stop screwing over women and girls to appease the feelings of men.

I did very much appreciate that.

The last time I wore anything like that outfit I was 5 years old.

Do you need an account for that? Nothing happens when I try.

RubyTrees · 16/02/2023 15:27

You shouldn't need an account.

Can you access this?

Ah, thanks - it works in that one, but not going in via the first link.

RubyTrees · 16/02/2023 15:29

Good!

It makes me wonder - have women been kept from STEM careers because they just might find out the truth that men are too dumb to know what a woman is?

RubyTrees · 16/02/2023 15:38

SinnerBoy · 16/02/2023 15:30

Looks like you can't copy the link to hidden tweets (which makes sense).
