I wonder how many of her haters will actually take the time to listen to her?
My money's on a handful of TRAs writing articles titled "I listened to JKRs podcasts you don't have to" which then completely misrepresents what she's said, and then all Twitter's flying monkeys condemning her on the basis of what she didn't actually say.
Same as usual. Personally, I'm really looking forward to it.

That sounds like an accurate prediction how its going to go yes:

Here's a link to Meghan's amazing Ted Talk about leaving the Westboro Baptist Church which I watched years ago- so my interest double piqued!
Can totally see why she has taken this on.
Two amazing women talking together. What a treat!
Thanks so much for the heads up OP!

I was very excited to see this earlier. Megan Phelps-Roper is an incredibly fascinating woman, and I am very interested to hear her take on it. I am not aware of her position on matters of gender, but I’m sure she will have a thoughtful take. I highly recommend her book on leaving the church. It takes such courage to do what she did.
I love the line “you could not have misunderstood me more profoundly” fromJKR. There are some people I am burning to say this to, as I think it really encapsulates their attitude. Possibly my only addition would be to point out the wilfulness of the misunderstanding and how hard they’ve had to work to misrepresent and misunderstand her.
it will be fascinating.

I've just read the excellent introductory essay:
In the late 1990s and early 2000s, many Christians saw her stories of witchcraft as dangerous for children, both sinful and poisonous. They made films and wrote books decrying her influence, sermonized against her, and campaigned to have her work removed from schools and libraries. Their efforts to censor the series made “Harry Potter” among the most banned books of two different decades. Some of these Christians, too, burned her books.
And yet it's the GC feminists here who get accused of "aligning with the bigoted Christian right"...!

@coconotgrove already posted this in the Telegraph- Whenever people accuse JK Rowling of transphobia, they never quote a single word she’s said thread, but this opinion piece by Pamela Paul in The New York Times today is a must-read in advance of the podcast series: In Defense of J.K. Rowling. Look at some of the "reader picks" comments too.
