There was a commentator on the other day who said Sturgeon knows her political career in Scotland is over and she will not bring about independence; and that her current stance on trans is a way of aligning herself with the most liberal EU thinkers, so that she can continue her career in The Hague (whether the UK is in the EU or not).

That was a good interview, because the questions were good, too.

And yes we do need to talk more about what people perceive as a difference between chancers and 'real' transwomen.

That hardly any have genital surgery - less than 5% have any surgery at all, and I think it's less than that who have genital surgery. How it doesn't stop men being intimidating to women or assaulting them. And how many women, yes the people mostly affected by all this, are uncomfortable or triggered by the presence of men, in their single sex spaces, even if they're absolutely delightful.

Fortunately, the debate is now a torrent, so I do believe these issues will be aired.

And yes to 'I don't care'! How unbelievably shocking of a woman not to give a flying fuck about a man's demands.

She was great on Times Radion yesterday evening, too.

GB news is consistently on the ball on this issue, with generally well informed interviewers who are not afraid to have the conversation. Times Radio has also been very good. It's a crying shame that the rest of the broadcast media are so cowardly.

I agree about "I don't care". Women need to stop having to do the, "Of course we care about trans people" dance in every interview. We are allowed to put ourselves first. We are allowed to defend out hard won rights. We don't need to justify this.

Julie Bindel was marvellous, a real breath of fresh air. I noted there was no pussy footing about with 'correct' pronouns either, good to see.

If only more people had spoken as clearly and factually as this on TV and radio years and years ago. In many cases, I expect they wanted to, but knew it would be the end of their careers if they did. Talk about the madness of crowds ...
