I will be honest there have been a few posts on this thread that have seemed a bit fishy, and there has been a fairly successful attempt at derailing/ undermining the article and the author.

How do you know this poster is genuine? Picklebee is master of deception at getting into womens online groups … just saying

I don’t believe that anyone on this thread is not well experienced enough to guard their personal identity. So the potential for getting personal information would be from someone who is very naive. And perhaps they should then not be on MN because it is known for begging scams etc.

But those people do benefit from the warnings and there has been more than one warning on this thread which is as it should be.

purple isn’t trying to ‘kill’ the story. If someone was attempting to kill the story, do you think that those of us who have indicated we support her would not see it? Maybe look at who is supporting and decide whether we are those who would miss such a blunt tactic.

The fact is, it would not have diminished the story to remove the identity of this poster, someone known to have a history on MN. I checked before it was changed. I saw a history there.

So it is not to kill the story or to even change it.

I think what is worse is that I saw yesterday and I don’t know when it was tweeted that Wings is discussing news of Douglas being a rapist being published soon. I am very concerned about that. Yes, Douglas should be exposed but not their victims. This should be handled with much care.

So, what benefit would Douglas be gaining from pretending to be their victim here?

I don’t doubt that Douglas has history on MN somewhere. It doesn’t take much. A long sleeper game. Have a profile that has a long history with single, often really short posts on very wide ranging topics (whatever is going on in active every few months or so). I would expect that would be the way to do it. I have reported trolls with that type of history and MN put up deletion messages that they were PBPs. Just playing the long game.

But to me, the logic doesn’t stack up that this poster in question is Douglas.

And casting doubt on her experience and legitimacy would be more Douglas’ style, in my opinion . Wouldn’t you all think?

I think this thread is now dead. No one knows who anyone else is. Or is it just me that's confused?

I've got a real life situation underway where someone is misrepresenting themselves. I haven't got capacity for more confusion!

I am very conflicted about "Wings over Scotland". This is a man who stoked up so much bile and hatred during the 2014 referendum and for years unquestingly supported Alex Salmond and Nicola Sturgeon and their "cause". Thousands of nationalists lapped it up and he took a lot of credit for their success in the polls. His threads were regularly linked on here and all over the internet.

I don't disagree with any of what he's posted on the current shitshow. He's doing a good job now of bringing these issues to a wider attention. But he doesn't acknowledge that "Wings" is part of the issue for putting them into the position of power in hte first place.

But I do disagree with doxxing the previous poster and refusing to take it down. Scummy behaviour.

It's sensible to take any posts with a pinch of salt and not to share personal info or anything else when you don't have enough info to be sure of someone.

I wasn't aware that you'd seen the name change; as I described mn did this for me with astonishing speed and flexibility with a previous name 5 years ago. Helle is well known on these boards and I trust her judgement.

I also reserve 10% of doubt at all times Aka trust nea cunt. That said, the "diversion" on this thread has not improved the reputation of the main individual in the piece in anyway. Posting has kept the piece up high on boards. Mn also usually delete suspicious posters, if reports have been made. And every thing else Helle said.

Sadly Warrior, I make many mistakes so unfortunately I cannot be certain of any poster.

I say this as a survivor, I really, really hope Wings is going to be exceptionally careful about the rape claims. I have already had to prematurely change my surname over this so that I am completely untraceable (my first name has been changed for a while). Hopefully no other survivors are put in the same position I have been over the last week.

Let us not forget that the bottom line of all this is to lower the age of sexual consent . The fact that the Scottish Government is in thrall to these twisted fetishist individuals who are directing policy on gender is frankly shocking and should be all over MSM . I am not an independence supporter and certainly never would be to this second rate crowd of regional administrators in Scotland but applaud Wings for bringing it to our attention. So let’s not forget what’s behind all this and where it could end .
