Reporting threads

I’ve been following a very amusing and extremely informative thread on the feminism board. It was unfortunately deleted.

I wonder if some people report the threads they start and then sock puppet on, if they don’t go their way? Any ideas?
I do hope it is still available on the internet somewhere because it should go in classics.

I think MN winds them up because they're allowed to post and yet they never manage to dominate. So much harder when you can't rely on threats and physical intimidation.

I'm not exactly sure what a sock puppet is and I hope it's not me. I've name changed to ask a specific question which I haven't got round to yet, but I'm a regular.

A sock puppet is an account used by another poster to either support or argue with themselves. They post on one thread using both accounts, pretending to be two different people.

I'm sad. Did we ever find out how to do giant writing?

Well I was the OP and I'm not a sock puppet 😁. And MN are not looking into me . Just to clear that up. Also I am gender critical. To also clear that up.

Went to the Ma La Sichuan restaurant just round the corner from Tufton Street, as post football we could not be bothered to cook, and then onto Tesco in my on-going search for mincemeat, which they did not have. No sign on any far right types, at least as far as I could tell. It was cold wet and miserable but everything seemed peaceful. The Pret was closed.

Sock puppeting is deliberately using more than one name on a thread for nefarious purposes such as supporting oneself or conducting a fake 'dialog'.
It's a stupid thing to do as MNHQ can see through it.

I don't think so - perhaps because the only people they could sanction would be signed-up members, whereas those who aren't members/banned posters/lazy 'journalists' can do this with impunity regardless.
