Because the two attackers were males with a trans identity that were taking out their rage at thibgs some other people (probably males) had said, on the easier targets of two women.

It is reported that a remark was made which was allegedly transphobic. The remark is not quoted so we are unable to say if it was transphobic or not.

I note that the court reporter doesn't mention pronouns for either of the attackers.

What a stupid and deliberately confusing article. If they hadn’t mentioned transphobia, without giving it any context, we would have assumed these random attackers were women. We shouldn’t have to guess the sex of random attackers by reading between the lines.

The victims are referred to as Miss and Mrs, whereas the attackers are only referred to by their surnames

I feel sorry for any women who find themselves sharing a single sex space with those two violent males.

No pictures....tells me all I need to know about the sex of the attackers.

They acknowledged the attack and got ....a feather light slap on the wrist....

Different spellings but they are easy to find on social media but it's difficult to make out much other than they like make-up, pouting and filters. Some of their friends are definitely males wearing stereotypically female clothes though who would be likely to be on the receiving end of comments.
