Except no Trans people in Wales have been murdered, as many people point out:

Pride in Surrey are holding a virgil for all "lost" due to transphobia and hate crime: www.instagram.com/p/ClJTyICNBdM

Claudia Webbe MP reckons 8 people have been killed due to anti trans violence in the UK since last October: twitter.com/ClaudiaWebbe/status/1594263877201584135

The tweet makes no reference to Wales. It's a world wide day.

SereneSemolina · 20/11/2022 18:22

Hertfordshire Police put out their tweet for Trans Remembrance on Armistice Day, before any posts were made about actual Remembrance Day. It was.pointed out by many commenters but there was no comment or acknowledgement from the force at all.

Every TDOR I'm reminded of Bonhoeffer's theory of stupidity.

sproutsschools.com/bonhoeffers-theory-of-stupidity/

''It becomes apparent that every strong upsurge of power, be it of a political or religious nature, infects a large part of humankind with stupidity. Almost as if this is a sociological-psychological law where the power of the one needs the stupidity of the other.''

and

''The fact that the stupid person is often stubborn must not blind us from the fact that he is not independent. In conversation with him, one virtually feels that one is dealing not at all with him as a person, but with slogans, catchwords, and the like that have taken possession of him.''

Pudmyboy · 20/11/2022 19:06

Also this quote: 'Against stupidity the gods themselves contend in vain'
Frederich Schiller

(I know it from the Azimov book 'the gods themselves')

Webbe has a criminal conviction, so isn’t a massively reliable source of info.

Couldn't see anywhere else to put this....more of the same. "We remember those lives cut short by transphobia".
No names of those who's lives were cut short.... but a consistent message.

Who the fuck are these people whose lives have been cut short by transphobia? Who? Name one single person. Just one.

waterwitch · 20/11/2022 21:21

How many women have been murdered since last October? When is there Remembrance Day? Or are they just not as important 🙄

waterwitch · 20/11/2022 21:21

*their not there

The RCOT have been completely captured.

I'd like a day of remembrance for these women: kareningalasmith.com/counting-dead-women/

RCOT have gone completely bonkers since Steve Ford took over. It is all out woke. Hopefully he will find a new job soon and RCOT can go back to being a professional organisation rooted in science.

I'd love to hear a positive message about trans people being safe in Wales. Would make more sense.

MrsJamin · 20/11/2022 22:01

tdor.translivesmatter.info/reports/tdor2022?country=all&category=all&view=list&filter= this is the source they are using. All 8 from the UK were suicides. How can they determine that any of these were solely because of transphobia? The Mayor is attending a big tdor event in Reading, it's absolutely ridiculous. The bowing of heads, the wringing of hands, all really pointless. What are they hoping to achieve?

Ritasueandbobtoo9 · 20/11/2022 22:05

Meanwhile two women are murdered each week but what are the Welsh Government doing about that?

I hadn't made the connection with Steve Ford, but yes it has gone bonkers since then.

ArabellaScott · 20/11/2022 22:22

It's very sad that Zen/Aidan Mann was murdered. A senseless waste of life. And any suicide is of course tragic.

This is such a good explanation

Disability History Month started on 16th November, I've had a quick look at the tweets from the Senedd and I can't see anything that they've tweeted about it. I'm not on twitter so I may have missed something.

I also had a look for #DisabilityHistoryMonth, alot of the tweets I found under that were people complaining how little notice there was of it.

I've had 'Yma o Hyd' (Still here) as an earworm for the past few days. I'm not complaining it's a cracking tune, and women, real women, despite everyone and everything are also still here. Anyway, the song introduced me to Dic Sion Dafydd. A Welsh man who went to London and denied his reality as a Welsh man, refusing to speak his native tongue even to his own mum. It struck a chord with me, but regarding women who support transpeople (which is laudable) but throw other women under the bus.

LemonadeSunshine · 21/11/2022 00:37

The Welsh prats in power are a fucking embarrassment, completely tone deaf on every issue 😡

AutumnCrow · 21/11/2022 01:38

I bet the same knobs are still roaring on the national teams in Qatar though, the bloody hypocrites.

Justellingthetruth · 21/11/2022 01:48

@badbaduncle

nothing wrong with this day.
there does seem a huge problem on mn with this whole issue
