I found out today there is a range of subtypes, including

Meowgender: 'people who feel strongly connected to older and/or full-grown cats. Meowgender people have various reasons for relating to older cats, such as personality, behaviour, or aesthetics.'

Presumably the subtypes share an impulse to disrupt events held by cisfelines (those born as cats), and demand equal access to litter trays.

Bristol University certainly seems to think cat gender and pronouns are credible:

Catgender, Meowgender and Mewgender are genuine gender categories some people identify with. The pronouns helpfully researched by aweegc are genuinely those recommended for people identifying as catgender. Nyan is genuinely Japanese for meow, hence Nyan-binary.

This is me! I knew I was meant to be a cat, I wanted to be a witch because they have cats and can fly, but my parents wouldn’t accept it. Think I will let my DH know and I will be found up a tree scaring my neighbour who is clearly a pigeon.

My 4yo DD is kittygender since NDN got a kitten a few months ago, the cat however has seemingly declared himself doggygender, or maybe he's a furry, as he likes to go for walks with his owners and has better recall to his name than many cisdogs do.
