Unfabled, on Instagram. Helpfully suggesting we stop talking about ‘women having periods’ and say ‘people who have periods’ while at the same time banging on about destigmatising menstruation. Do these useful idiots ever stop and think about the misogyny they are unwittingly promoting?

They’d also like to know what makes ‘people’ feel ashamed about their periods. How do they have the gall to start a conversation like that when they will not even name the sex class of human who have periods?

I am SO OVER THIS SHIT!

That is awful.

octagonspoon · 19/05/2022 19:30

It’s 2022 and 58% of people said they still feel embarrassed by their period

No they didn't. 50% of people are never able to have a period in their entire life.

We are so over the phrase sanitary products

They are also, apparently, so over the phrase 'women'. Whilst boldly wanting to destigmatise periods, they are also cravenly stigmatising the word 'women' when associated with anything womanly.

These people really need to think a bit more deeply about what lies behind the values they claim to hold.

Abra1d1 · 19/05/2022 19:32

It is insulting.

Blueblisters · 19/05/2022 19:38

It is deeply insulting. I’m so sick of these woke period based start ups - last one was the idiot who called us all bleeders - who sweep in boldly declaring they’re here to revolutionise menstruation and how we talk
about it and they are either too cowardly or misogynistic to even saying the word women. They are so utterly delusional in their belief that they’re doing something progressive for women when they won’t even fucking name us as they’re so desperate to pander to a men’s rights movement! It’s pathetic and has given me the absolute rage tonight.

The captured by male lobbyists NHS is also not very keen on the word woman when talking about women's gynaecological cancers:

Blueblisters · 19/05/2022 19:43

I saw that the NHS had done that. Absolutely disgraceful. Ovarian Cancer UK were blocking women on Twitter last week who objected to their refusal to say ‘women’.

How has it come to this?

The article doesn't mention that pages about testicular cancer and prostate cancer explicitly refer to men. It is the usual "erasing the female sex only" trend.

Blueblisters · 19/05/2022 19:52

Men are allowed to keep their words, it’s only women whose language has become unsayable.

I notice Unfabled are deleting comments as fast as women can type them.

OP posts:
KittenKong · 19/05/2022 19:52

Well every comment is basically telling them to ‘do one’ so there’s hope…

Badger1970 · 19/05/2022 19:59

I commented but the page now shows as deleted....... does that mean I've been blocked 😂

Blueblisters · 19/05/2022 20:01

Yes, I think you’ve been blocked. They won’t listen to a word women say, unfortunately. Just delete and block and write women off as trolls. Much easier than taking time to consider you might have got it wrong.

Their FB page seems to be completely different, though. None of the woke on there.

They've disabled comments now 😂

Annoying - I wanted to question their statistics etc.

TheChild · 19/05/2022 20:18

Yep. They deleted my comment then locked the comments down. Commented on their most recent post asking why they did this and they blocked me too. Pathetic.

Oh right, aye.

If they can prove this to me…

puffyisgood · 19/05/2022 21:04

that went well.

KittyLeMew · 20/05/2022 09:00

What is wrong with ‘women and people’ if they want to be inclusive? Where is the logic in excluding and blocking a whole group to appease another? How is that inclusive?

How can they claim to be empowering women when they won’t use the word?

How pathetic are these brands and PEOPLE who won’t allow women to be called women?

Do we have a solid period pant option that haven’t gone full gender woo bleeder people bollocks?

Sigh.

Beowulfa · 20/05/2022 09:17

If they genuinely thought that men buy their products, they would put their money where their mouth is and advertise in Men's Health magazine and on Talksport etc. I'm guessing when it comes to parting with actual cash for a marketing campaign they know who their customers really are.

TopKnotch · 20/05/2022 09:19

Nothing makes any sense.

'Things that cause stigma "women with periods" '

What? How?

Those who have gender dysphoria find the bleeding triggering, the reminder that their body is female and has female biology etc. How does waxing lyrical about periods but denying they happen only to women specifically address that issue?

And I CANNOT BEAR the constant mention of 'gender non conforming' people as a specific category as it implies somehow that the rest of us who aren't full on 'self declared something special' are AOK with gender stereotyping and falling into line. When I really really am not. FFS.

I find it SO offensive. But I'm only a woman, so who cares, eh?!
