That is shocking.

BridgeofStock · 04/04/2022 23:12

Isn't this the guy that trolled his state council or whatever it's called by going in in a swimsuit a la Lia and complaining her was being discriminated against because they wouldn't let him swim with the girls? A pisstake?

Mummyoflittledragon · 04/04/2022 23:13

Omg. That is difficult to process.

sacredfeminina · 04/04/2022 23:22

Yes it is that guy, he also went into another council meeting in a handmaiden outfit as a pisstake and he was taken seriously I believe. He is doing it to point out the ridiculousness of 'wokeness'

If TMAM why does it not say "Men Have Periods"?

MrsTerryPratchett · 05/04/2022 03:00

What's with all the tatoos?

Marathoninjury · 05/04/2022 03:14

@MrsTerryPratchett

What's with all the tatoos?
Being born a man and identifying as a non/binary lesbian isn’t enough to stand out in a crowd, you also need 10+ piercings, pink hair, 8+ tattoos, scream at people, talk lauding about periods (that don’t make you bleed but cause immense pain) and wear odd socks as well just to make sure no one thinks you haven’t got a personality.
BeckyWokerson · 05/04/2022 04:06

Soo...women arent people?

Turningpurple · 05/04/2022 04:27

Its odd because I saw on twitter that the LBG alliance 'literally erases trans people'.

The LBG alliance doesn't and isn't erasing trans people. But this is campaign definitely trying to erase women, but that appears to be ok.

Deliriumoftheendless · 05/04/2022 07:44

@BeckyWokerson

Soo...women arent people?
Which people menstruate, Becky?
EdgeOfACoin · 05/04/2022 09:16

So many mastectomies, short hairstyles and butch looking tattoos.

And yet, even ignoring the (fake) period stained underwear, it is blindingly clear that I am not looking at a group of adult human males. (I get that some of them probably identify as non-binary.)

I find that picture very sad.

NecessaryScene · 05/04/2022 09:21

This sort of thing is very much going to be one of those incomprehensible cultural artefacts that people in a future society look back on and wonder what on earth was going on.

And, yes, EdgeOfACoin, that was very much my thought too. It's blindingly obvious that this is not a group of males.

TRAs occasionally like to play the game "well, if you let transmen into women's spaces, then what if a man decides to pose as a transman!?!?"

If you put almost any man into that photo, it would be blindingly obvious he didn't fit. Very few men could pass as transmen, whereas any man could pass as a transwoman.

EdgeOfACoin · 05/04/2022 09:22

@BeckyWokerson

Soo...women arent people?
Person A: "Baby mammals are called kittens"

Person B: "I think you'll find that baby cats are called kittens"*

Person A: "ARE YOU SAYING THAT CATS AREN'T MAMMALS?!?!"

*I recognise that some other baby mammals are also called kittens, such as rabbits. However, I don't think this negates the point I am trying to make.

Deliriumoftheendless · 05/04/2022 09:27

Or even

Mammals go meow

No, cats go meow

ARE YOU SAYING CATS AREN’T MAMMALS!?!?!

IcakethereforeIam · 05/04/2022 09:27

None of them look happy, I know that's probably the vibe the photographer was going for but still, why not. Oh yes, and they might not want to be women but still objectified like women for the different but same reason.

Deliriumoftheendless · 05/04/2022 09:28

(Then cats go “sod off, we are Gods anyway) but they’re wrong too.

Much as I love them.

Whatwouldscullydo · 05/04/2022 09:28

That picture is awful. All those who have had healthy body parts removed to achieve the unachievable.

As fir erasure. Trans people erase themselves. If sex isn't real or relevant then what are they even transitioning too or from?

However people feel like they want to be addressed it doesn't undo reality
And they are victim to the same outcome as women are. You cant fix problems you cant see. Amd if we can pretend to eliminate problems.not by actually solving them but by removing the language to describe them then that affects eveeyone on the category regardless of identity.

Its harmful and should not be indulged.

EdgeOfACoin · 05/04/2022 09:30

TRAs occasionally like to play the game "well, if you let transmen into women's spaces, then what if a man decides to pose as a transman!?!?"

It's interesting, isn't it. On the whole, I tend to think that ftm transitioners pass as biological men far better than mtf transitioners pass as biological women. But that's when they are fully clothed.

Having seen that picture, I really would not have any concerns about sharing a changing room with a ftm transitioner.

And actually, the 'well where should a transman change then' question was one I used to ponder when I was newer to this debate.

tabbycatstripy · 05/04/2022 09:33

But apparently not Vanish.

Linguini · 05/04/2022 09:39

What about
"Mammals have periods"

That'd be a cool slogan

NecessaryScene · 05/04/2022 09:41

"Mammals have periods"

Not inclusive enough. "Animals have periods".

Linguini · 05/04/2022 09:44

About transmen and men posing as one:

If you read through the exemptions in the EA2010 there is a section that sets out that you can in fact lawfully exclude a transman (female trans person) from a women only space due to "perceived maleness".
It is actually ok to be eg in a hospital ward giving birth next to a TM and request separate spaces because their perceived maleness is making you uncomfortable.

So if a man pretends to be a transman to get into a woman only space you can lawfully tell them to fuck off.

In the UK, anyway. USA is probably rather different.

sacredfeminina · 05/04/2022 09:47

Periods are periods

Deliriumoftheendless · 05/04/2022 09:51

@NecessaryScene

"Mammals have periods"

Not inclusive enough. "Animals have periods".

“Living creatures have periods”.
veronicagoldberg · 05/04/2022 09:58

Troubled young women.

Damaged by the expectations and abuses of a patriarchal culture.
