Making it up as she goes along.

Couldn’t see the clip. Both topics are critical to women

donquixotedelamancha · 02/04/2022 07:08

I love Jamil, she's excellent value.

Born to privilege and made a career from her looks so, of course, she identifies as a feminist, anti-capitalist defender of the poor and tells people off for dieting and wearing make-up.

Self identifies as 'queer' because she 'fancies everyone' despite only ever dating blokes.

Sworn enemy of bees.

Rightsraptor · 02/04/2022 07:42

I'd never heard of her until I trod these boards and I don't think I missed much.

I take it she's not in the UK? It's hardly a claim that makes much sense here.

risefromyourgrave · 02/04/2022 08:07

She also defended Will Smith, quote below.

“Will Smith said “Not Today”. A man big enough to absolutely floor him, slapped him softly enough that Chris barely moved, because he made fun of his wife’s alopecia on a world stage. Don’t say #protectBlackwomen for two years and then only condemn Will here. Come on…”

I imagine if Chris Rock suddenly identified as a woman it would have been the biggest crime ever and Will Smith would be a hateful man.

VortexofBloggery · 02/04/2022 08:09

"citizens with a uterus"

nauticant · 02/04/2022 08:09

Jamil is indeed excellent value. Searching for Jamil + bee attack always lifts the spirits.

SolasAnla · 02/04/2022 08:13

Those who wish to oppress the poor ( female and male), the disabled (female and male) , women (female), people with uteruses (female body part) specifically… always try to demonise trans rights as a way to turn our heads,’ actor and activist wrote

J should go all the way out there with the US and reclassify herself as a black birthing body, but we all know she won't.

Talking about any topic is a dependant on using the words which have a meaning understood and common to each party. If a politician has to lie to avoid saying adult human female when asked what a woman is, how can anyone expect them to sort out ending hunger and creating world peace.

Ireland has documented self ID. When a female signs the application form she sign away the right to avail of protections against discrimination originating from her reproductive capacity. The push will be to extend these protections to men or by body parts (period products for bleeders etc)

This Thurdsay(?) on twitter Labour women (Ire) was doing the usual TWAW.... we support ...sport is not a problem .. UK transphobes.. The we are feminists was great except for forgetting tweeting was from a political party's twitter account. The account is currently protected after the jem of I have read a few books.. black people run faster.. what would sport researcher in the field know about sport
The general voting population have no idea that Ireland has a mixed sex prison.

Labour elected a women as leader, she and all other politicians wont want to explain how that happened nor what they want to do about it.

Thank you, I clicked on the first link and that’s given me a right good giggle while drinking my morning coffee Grin
LittleWhingingWoman · 02/04/2022 08:17

Seen another way, she is using the anti abortion drive as an excuse to push her TRA/MRA agenda whilst using language to dehumanise women.

Also bees.
Bees are deadly I've heard.

In contrast, a quick scan of the Mail online shows four articles this morning about women's rights. In addition to one about JKR being defamed by the BBC conflating her views alongside criminal paedophiles there's one about Rosie Duffield supporting Maya's new campaigning group:
www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-10678117/Labour-MP-Rosie-Duffield-backs-campaign-protect-sex-based-rights-local-election.html

Interestingly f you click on the women's rights link in the first para, look at what pops up:

www.dailymail.co.uk/news/womens-rights/index.html

That's impressive coverage of what's going on

MrsOvertonsWindow · 02/04/2022 08:19

Sorry for the Mail derail on such an insightful thread about err......bees?

LittleWhingingWoman · 02/04/2022 08:24

"It was the most scared I’ve ever been. I didn’t know what it was and then suddenly I was like, ‘Oh my God, it’s killer bees! Those are killer bees!’ I just ran, food flew everywhere and I destroyed the whole set. It was terrifying,”
said Jameela

"The Good Place star added that the two issues were “more connected than you think”, writing: “Those who wish to oppress the poor, the disabled, women, people with uteruses specifically… always try to demonise trans rights as a way to turn our heads and divert our attention and energy… because they KNOW… that trans liberation intersects with all of those other things."

Word salad garbage

Helleofabore · 02/04/2022 08:56

As a segue on this amazing thread about killer bees, Grin, that phraseology ‘trans liberation’ is getting used more and more lately.

I think it is a misnomer of course. They actually already have it here. What they are not being liberated to have is more rights than any other group.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 02/04/2022 09:00

always try to demonise trans rights as a way to turn our heads and divert our attention and energy

"Trans rights" has only been a major issue for society in general in the last few years or so, so no, it's not some common trope through history as she's implying. Melodramatic, incoherent nonsense.

KittenKong · 02/04/2022 09:06

I was at school with a girl who just opened her mouth and spouted utter nonsense. No idea why (well for attention). For some reason some of the teachers indulged her.

I remember one English class when she was explaining to the teacher her woeful attempt at homework.

NB both her parents were teachers. And alive.

She don’t have a pen or pencil.
She didn’t have a dictionary at home
In fact there were no books at home
Because her mum couldn’t read.
Her dad couldn’t read.
Her dad had just died.

This went on for most of the class and even the ‘bad lads’ at the back of the class started telling her to stop telling lies.

Remember both of parents were alive and were teachers and she lived in a nice house near the school.

She also bought herself a dress ring when she about 15 and announced that she ‘was engaged to a lad (who we didn’t know) who was… a mechanic’.

She had a very fierce guard dog. Family had no dogs.

Every day there was something ‘amazing’ or ‘terrible’ that happened to her.

It was exhausting..

donquixotedelamancha · 02/04/2022 09:37

It was the most scared I’ve ever been. I didn’t know what it was and then suddenly I was like, ‘Oh my God, it’s killer bees! Those are killer bees!’ I just ran, food flew everywhere and I destroyed the whole set. It was terrifying

Ronson described it as 4/5 bees attracted to a plate of fruit they were eating so they moved to a table inside. Despite being asked to, he's never changed his story.

Both of her car crashes were apparently caused by bees too. When she was 11 or 17 (unclear) she ran into traffic because she was chased by a bee and almost died from horrific injuries.

An almost identical scenario then left her with minor injuries which was clarified to be a different accident in her 20s.

LittleWhingingWoman · 02/04/2022 09:40

"one or two individual bees approached slowly"

The ACLU have a fundemenral problem in their US abortion campaign. The ACLU are selling TWAW tmam.

So they are trying to say people get the right to choose. People include men, they get a say because there are 2 people involved in the (start of the) baby making process they get to choose. Except men don't get to choose.
So sell a lie. Logic proves the lie to "harm" men, "harm" babies, "help" "people". The lie has set up the oppositions argument without them having to say a word.

Add in (one of ) the most visable trans person in the US is a olympic medal winning rich white male..

I don't understand this at all. The ACLU argues for women's right to abortion and while they do use nonsense language they still talk about women too. They also argue TWAW- hence the nonsense language about women's issues.

I don't understand why you think their first argument is proven wrong by logic or even why the two issues are linked.

BootsAndRoots · 02/04/2022 13:08

Using the distraction of abortion being distracted by a "trans" swimmer to distract away from how trans rights is having an impact on women.

Using whataboutery to say nothing about the topic at hand.

DomesticatedZombie · 02/04/2022 13:13

slapped him softly

Well that's clearly okay then. Silly woman.

Mummyoflittledragon · 02/04/2022 13:54

The Birds is a classic. Why not The Bees?

See movie clip and imagine monster bees:

SolasAnla · 02/04/2022 21:03

@donquixotedelamancha all the stuff i have seen has been people need access to abortion, not women need access.
They cant say a female can be men and not have access to abortion.
So using the clear message woman's rights is a lost, its transphobic as tmam results in some men needing abortion.

The question becomes how did a society go from providing it as part of health care to rolling it back in a much more liberal, sexual permissive society. There would be the cohert of voters who never accepted the provision but whole generation of women (&men) have grown up with access to birth control and abortion so why is it a vote winner. At a minimum the women should be looking to retain for themselves. I dont know if its also linked to the US having a profit taking health care system.

Makes more sense to me now. I don't think (from the polling I have seen) that it's a huge vote winner but it's the issue for the republican base and therefore crucial in candidate selection.

I do think, more broadly, that stuff like this explains Trump (and similar politicians) indirectly, and therefore creates room for anti-abortion laws in the US. Many natural left wing voters find it hard to justify supporting candidates who spout drivel and seem disconnected from reality.

SigourneyHoward · 02/04/2022 21:50

ah yes JJ who went to a school in which (according to JJ) most of female pupils were using puberty blockers which therefore means PB's are absolutely fine....*

*it is possible JJ was confusing PB's with contraceptive pill
