Congratulations to Emma Weyant (20), who, earlier this evening, was the fastest woman in the 500 yard freestyle at the NCAA Swimming and Diving championships.

She has won the silver medal, in deference to Lia Thomas's authentic self.

The woke culture is always banging on about cultural appropriation.
But when it comes to sexual appropriation they all go "nothing to see here".

Actually, the more we see of this crap the more people will realise what an Orwellian world we are inhabiting.

I still, however, don't understand why Thomas is not being booed out of the pool. That person has zero conception of what is ethical or moral.

Fairislefandango · 18/03/2022 15:46

If it's no longer necessary to separate sports competitions by sex, why is it still necessary to separate them at all (i.e. by 'gender')? Surely the logical conclusion is that all events should be mixed sex/'gender'. I'm sure we're all scratching our heads wondering why TRAs aren't pushing for that to happen. Hmm

purpleme12 · 18/03/2022 15:52

Saw this news article just now on Facebook
Totally agree

That is the logical conclusion, of course. And there is no reason to segregate facilities such as prisons, shelters or toilets on the basis of gender identity alone, either! If gender is just a feeling, we can dispense with all such segregation.

So much of what is going on is about validation, I think.

JellySaurus · 18/03/2022 15:56

So much? Everything!

DysonSphere · 18/03/2022 16:14

What does the swimming cheat get out of it?

My personal hypothesis is I think it's more akin to munchausen syndrome (speculating)

In other words the individual may know that they are cheating but the personage is still treated like a winner, hence still gets all the attention (first and foremost) adulation, all the praise, applause, all the interviews, all the gushing, all the inflated sense of self, the scholarships, the glory etc etc.

So essentially just as the person with munchausen may know they're being completely fake, and don't deserve all that sympathy, money, and attention, it doesn't matter because the payoff in terms of how it feels is still huge.

It must have been galling to never win. All that training and getting nowhere in the ranking. I imagine it's good now, to both feel like and be treated like a winner even when you're not. Any sportsperson who cheats is going for the feeling of glory. It doesn't have to be authentic or real to feel good. Lie to yourself enough and you even convince yourself you deserve it.

It's very extreme selfishness.

Whereareyourshoes · 18/03/2022 16:34

Congratulations Emma Weyant on being the true winner.

Shame on the event organisers. Introduce an inclusive open category for men, transwomen, trans men and non-binary people and leave the women’s race as female only.

BoogieFeet · 18/03/2022 16:44

Congratulations Emma Star

Another photo.

Congratulations to Emma Weyant
purpleme12 · 18/03/2022 17:26

Wow you can really see the difference

Whitefire · 18/03/2022 18:08

Isn't it that old adage even negative attention is still attention? Best to totally ignore it.

ScreamingMeMe · 18/03/2022 20:20

Has this been posted yet? Interview with Save Women’s Sports, who protested yesterday

purpleme12 · 18/03/2022 20:22

I can't believe this is allowed

purpleme12 · 18/03/2022 20:28

Is this true? : Lia Thomas (previously the 462nd ranked male in college swimming), has just won a women’s national championship - beating Emma Weyant who is AN OLYMPIC SILVER MEDALLIST. In third, Erica Sullivan, also AN OLYMPIC SILVER MEDALLIST.

I don't understand how trans people became allowed to compete as women with women!
I honestly don't understand

DoubleYouOhEmAyEn · 18/03/2022 20:35

No one understands purple . It's fucking baffling. And sinister.

LaChanticleer · 18/03/2022 20:37

Those photos really show the farce of “sportsmanship” on the part of Thomas.

Voice0fReason · 18/03/2022 21:08

It is incomprehensible that this was allowed to happen.
The logical end result of TWAW

Because there's no respect for women and girls. Recent history has just been playing lip service and now the mask has slipped again.

We are considered the support humans and the servant class so if men want something that belongs to us we're meant to hand it over with a smile, not make a fuss and never ever be rude, sweary and complaining.

That's why it's been allowed.

See this thread from Emma Hilton and spot the stark difference in attitude to the threat of men losing even the tiniest sporting advantage.

There is a video trending on Reddit where you can hear the booing. I'm not sure I can post it because the comments are very aggressive but it appears to have happened.

Vanishun · 19/03/2022 07:04

A post on Reddit:

'Honestly, while the travesty is about the man who finished first, the real tragedy was described at the end of the article:

A Virginia Tech swimmer on Thursday spoke out publicly after her teammate was crushed by the “inclusion” of Thomas.

“I’ve got a teammate who did not make the final today because she was just bumped out of finals,” the collegiate swimmer told Rapid Fire’s Savanah Hernandez. “It’s heartbreaking to see someone who went through puberty as a male and has the body of a male be able to absolutely blow away the competition.”

“She was very emotional, and it’s hard to see because it’s her last NCAAs; she really loves that race, and it was just heartbreaking that she put all of her efforts into it today … one of the best times that’s she went in a morning session and still not make it back,” she described. “It’s hard to see someone who works every day and every night still not be able to compete against someone like that.”

That right there (a girl getting bumped to make room for the "woman with a penis") is the real crime here. It fucking sucks that she wasn't allowed to compete all because the NCAA jettisoned their honor and common sense on the altar of woke bullshit politics.'

ScreamingMeMe · 19/03/2022 09:27

Reddit is extremely pro TRA, as many of their mods are trans. I bet they will be working overtime to delete lots of posts this weekend!

DysonSphere · 20/03/2022 22:11

Apparently he's just (thrown) lost a race.

LilithRises · 20/03/2022 23:20

Congratulations Emma for your win of this race
Fancy a natal male coming first ?? No win there - just a big horrid cheat

Midlifemusings · 21/03/2022 00:04

This is why I think it is so important to keep sex and gender as distinct concepts (aka gender reveals etc).

Gender identity and gender expression is how someone wishes to present themselves to the world and I have no issue with someone of any gender being as masculine or as feminine as they want to be. I don't care who likes pink or blue or wears dresses or pants or has long hair or short hair or who wears makeup or not. I don't even care if someone wants to use a female or male identifying name or pronoun. I am happy to respect their choice as to how they want the world to see them and how they feel most comfortable.

None of that changes their biological sex. Even hormone treatment or reassignment surgery doesn't change one's sex. East German female swimmers were doped ith testosterone - it doesn't make them men. Men with prostate cancer have their testosterone levels depleted with hormone treatment. It doesn't make them women. In both cases, they do experience physiological changes but those changes don't change their biological sex.

They are transgender - gender identity and expression. Gender is a sociocultural concept where someone wishes to express their gender in a way that may be counter cultural in that particular society. Good for them, I support that.

Their biological sex remains their biological sex. In sport, the competition has historically been divided based on sex due to the biological differences between sexes. It makes no sense to divide it by the sociocultural based concept of gender identity or gender expression.
