Forgive the presumption, @Mforstater, but you’re probably busy in the pub right now, or passing on all of the fan mail to you legal team Grin so I’ve made a new thread to carry on the fascinating discussion.

Round up your cats, rabbits and weasels, and let’s go!

——————————————————————————————

From thread one, here: www.mumsnet.com/Talk/womens_rights/4498167-Maya-Forstater-hearing-starts-Monday

Hi all,

Thank you so much for all your support: emotional, intellectual, financial, spiritual(!) reading the Mumsnet feminism board is where this all started for me!

The case starts tomorrow.

It is all online. If you want to watch you need to email the tribunal for a log in to [email protected]

It kicks off at 10am - the first bit will be "admin" between the judges and the lawyers working out the timings, issues and any reporting restrictions hmm.

Once that is all sorted the judge and the panel will go away to read (probably for the rest of Monday and all of Tuesday)

I will most likely give evidence Wednesday and Thursday.

@tribunaltweets will be tweeting the whole thing (assuming they get permission from the judge)

Links to papers will go up throughout the case at www.hiyamaya.net.

Any other questions I am happy to answer them (apart from the ones where I have to say "that is for the tribunal to hear"...)

I have made a spectators guide with FAQs etc here

Lots of love

Maya

He doesn't remember saying that — but he doesn't deny it.

I can accept that he is being honest here. He may well not remember exactly what he said. But not denying it is interesting too. If he never believed that the tweets were related to the decision he'd be able to deny saying it.

Also, it is clear from this morning that EM is (IMO) a dodgy character. The only reason to refuse to put things in writing is if you know it is likely get you in to trouble later on.

MsGoodenough · 17/03/2022 13:22

I think I've worked out everyone now apart from EM. Can anyone fill me in who they are? Thanks!

Iknowitisheresomewhere · 17/03/2022 13:25

When do they start this afternoon?

Pluvia · 17/03/2022 13:26

2pm.

FortVictoria · 17/03/2022 13:28

Thanks, Pluvia. Been checking all morning as I thought they started at 10.

VestofAbsurdity · 17/03/2022 13:28

@MargaritaPie

Wasn't she handing out leaflets re her political views which her colleagues found offensive? Similar to what a group of gender-criticals (including Marion Millar) did at an Edinburgh restaurant which the staff called the police on them to get them to leave?
No, and this has been proved in this case.

Take your problems with cold hard provable evidence somewhere else.

NancyDrawed · 17/03/2022 13:31

@Baystard

Thanks to *@tabbycatstripy* for the transcript, I'm following here (still waiting for a link despite asking them twice now), really fascinating.
Don't want to state the obvious, but have you checked your spam folder? My link came through pretty quickly
Twitterwhooooo · 17/03/2022 13:33

Thanks Tabby and to others who have provided the excellent commentary.

It is so fascinating watching it all unravel.

tabbycatstripy · 17/03/2022 13:34

I feel sorry for Plant. He's been put in a position where he's tried to take as much of a stand as he could for process and transparency, but he would have to leave his job if he wanted to do more, and that's not fair on him either.

Baystard · 17/03/2022 13:35

@NancyDrawed I did check the spam folder Sad

SpinningTheSeedsOfLove · 17/03/2022 13:39

Daily tedious reminder. Please report any defamatory goady sea-lioning and derailing directly to MNHQ - especially the defamation - and don't bother engaging with dunderheads.

This is one of the most important threads I've ever seen on MN and as for the sterling work of @tabbycatstripy and others - well, I can't thank them enough. Their work doesn't deserve to be derailed.

nauticant · 17/03/2022 13:39

LE = true believer
AG = priest-enforcer
MP = equivocating prelate
MA = some kind of pope, Pope Leo X, Pope Pius XII, JP2 ...?

Pluvia · 17/03/2022 13:41

I feel the same way about Plant. One does wonder what EM will have lined up for him once he's back in the office. Is she going to start amplifying against him next?

nauticant · 17/03/2022 13:42

I did think it was best to leave EM off my list.

SpinningTheSeedsOfLove · 17/03/2022 13:42

Pope on a Rope?
bishophaha · 17/03/2022 13:45

I'm finding this line of discussion 'uncomfortable'! Grin

EmbarrassingHadrosaurus · 17/03/2022 13:45

@nauticant

PoshPyjamas, I also get the impression that MP is torn between defending CGD and not wanting to continue in the victimisation of MP.
I don't.

MP is content to undermine MF's value and professional contribution through his testimony. He continually speaks as if her work were marginal and BC has to evidence the documents that state her work was in a core area for CDG.

It feels as if MP is remarkably strategic in what he recalls and it is primarily to the advantage of himself and CDG. If he does say something that might be considered appropriately respectful of MF's competence he is careful to undercut it.

BenCooperisaGod · 17/03/2022 13:47

Just spent lunch catching up. I wonder are MPs days at CGD numbered? It seems clear he disnt have an issue with Mayas views, wanted to keep her on and had real issues with the skullduggery and lack of transparency around how she was handled.

Clearly, he was never supposed to tell her that she was not being made staff because she had pissed off people in DC, he was supposed to say it was all down to a change in strategy.

I reckon EM will have him firmly in her sights, and this time she will leave no trace.

MayaWasSackedForGCBeliefs · 17/03/2022 13:47

I work across a few different but related-ish companies - I wear different hats for each role. I use several email addresses and about 6 different signatures.

The thought of my emails being trawled though at a later date give me horrors - but it is potentially likly due to the nature of my work.

In fact I did have to appear in court once about negotiations I was invovled in - I was 8 months PG, in a foreign country, court in another language, no sleep the night before. It was horrendous and I was only questioned for about an hour.

SpinningTheSeedsOfLove · 17/03/2022 13:47

I wonder if in his judgement Judge Glennie will have anything to say about the 'amplification technique'?

PrelateChuckles · 17/03/2022 13:47

Actually now's as good a time as any for a name change....

nauticant · 17/03/2022 13:48

It's hard to say isn't it EmbarrassingHadrosaurus? Maybe at some point MF will write in detail about this and many of the things we're asking about might become clearer.

MayaWasSackedForGCBeliefs · 17/03/2022 13:48

will MA be this afternoon?

tabbycatstripy · 17/03/2022 13:48

Right, I have about another half an hour to transcribe. I'll do 2-2.30.
