In case anyone hasnโ€™t seen it and can get along.

Info is on eventbrite (โ€˜make misogyny historyโ€™)

Is that cat identifying as a dinosaur now?

2Rebecca · 06/10/2021 09:02

Why Friday daytime?

Jaysmith71 · 06/10/2021 09:08

"Dinosaur" is a feline.
KittenKong · 06/10/2021 09:39

Catasaurus - I didnโ€™t want to discriminate against those who donโ€™t have a Dino costume but still wanted to dress up (feline like a Dino...)

I guess itโ€™s during the day because it starts outside The Lancet (and if journalists are still like they were back in the day, they wonโ€™t be sober after 2pm).

Protest: Friday 8th October
Lancet London HQ: 12:00
Labour Party HQ: 15:00
Womenโ€™s unique physiologies have been ignored and misunderstood by medical science throughout history, causing real world harms to 51% of the population. Our bodies have been treated like inconvenient anomalies, our biology unmentionable. Rather than reflect on the deep-rooted sexism behind such attitudes, the Lancet decided to address this historic blind spot by re-defining women as bodies with vaginas. Meanwhile the Leader of the Labour Party โ€“ one of the largest left-wing parties in Europe, said that โ€˜only women have cervixโ€™sโ€™ is something which should not be said. We say no. Enough is enough, we will not be dehumanised, and we will not be silenced! It is time to remind the dinosaurs at the heart of the British Establishment that women exist, our safety and our sex-based rights matter.
The protest begins outside the Lancet HQ at 12:30. We have banners and placards and a variety of roarsome chants
At around 2pm we will travel as a group to Labour Party HQ, aiming to arrive at 3pm.
We will give out leaflets and engage politely with members of the public. There will be an opportunity at this point for women to give short speeches or perform poems if you would like to prepare anything. Also, any hand made signs would be fabulous โ€“ both for the Lancet protest and that outside Labour Party HQ. We want to create a spectacle and challenge misogyny in a positive and humours way.
If you are nervous about attending you can wear a face covering, and we still need people to wear the dinosaur costumes.

I'd like to go, but I can't see me navigating London with baby(I'm not a Londoner so would definitely get lost!)

MildredsMoustache · 07/10/2021 09:21

Awesome. Wish I could come but I live too far away.

BelleOfTheProvince · 07/10/2021 11:04

I don't think I can go because of the logistics of baby+ London this time, but my rights hoarding dinosaur is ready for next time. Rarrgghh!

Amazing, I wish I was able to come and wear a dinosaur costume.

Artichokeleaves · 07/10/2021 15:43

Will be there in spirit, wish I had been able to rearrange work commitments in time. Really appreciate the women who are right on this while it's still hot on the press!

Anotheruser02 · 07/10/2021 17:54

I'm there, I can't wait. The paint's drying on my sign.

MildredsMoustache · 07/10/2021 17:56

@BelleOfTheProvince I love that!

PamDenick · 07/10/2021 17:59

Good luck - Iโ€™ll be there in spirit

Thank you. It's based on Tyrannosaurus drip!

CornflakesOnTheSolesOfHerShoes · 07/10/2021 18:37

Oh wow, I didnโ€™t know about this! Iโ€™m at work and donโ€™t live in London so canโ€™t make it but am thrilled itโ€™s happening.

Dashinghaberdashery · 07/10/2021 18:45

Please roar for me too tomorrow!

OhHolyJesus · 07/10/2021 18:59

I can't go but I really wish I could, it looks brilliant and it is always such a pleasure to be in the company of women...sorry, sorry dinosaurs.

Have a brilliant time!

I hope some journalists are awake. And sober.

Anotheruser02 · 07/10/2021 21:21

Double sided, a message for the lancet and a nice pic for Lammy.
