Margarita, why would anyone wish to prevent the foundation of an LGB charity if they weren't homophobic?

PurgatoryOfPotholes · 15/10/2021 14:25

@MargaritaPie

That was in response to someone who appears to be implying that 50+ LGBT groups are "homophobic".
The 50 (lgb)T orgs who are trying to prevent the foundation of a LGB-focused charity, so it certainly looks pretty homophobic, doesn't it?
GAHgamel · 15/10/2021 17:30

@alreadytaken

Unfortunately the website is being updated - a reminder to do a little digging when it is back up.
Does linking to the website get deleted, or can we put that up?
alreadytaken · 15/10/2021 17:33

Might get deleted as it includes a fund raiser - easy to find if you put .uk after a name though.

Supporting the rights of trans-people and standing up against transphobia isn't "homophobic".
MargaritaPie · 15/10/2021 18:25

Yes I might do a little gardening to help Stonewall, a well established and popular LGBT charity.

Reptar · 15/10/2021 18:36

Of course you will; why would you listen to Simon Fanshawe, one of the founder members of Stonewall about how it no longer represents gay people?

''Fanshawe is clearly outraged that Stonewall would choose to ignore the fears of gay women.
“I have never seen a feminist placard that says, ‘Death to trans people’ but I have seen many placards that say, ‘Death to Terfs’ [trans-exclusionary radical feminists] or ‘Punch a Terf’. The violence coming towards lesbians is completely staggering.”

They seem for focus on the T. Sold out LGB long ago. Wonder why?

Supporting the rights of gay people and standing up against homophobia isnt transphobic

Lovelyricepudding · 15/10/2021 18:41

Undermining the ability of LGB people to stand up against homophobia is homophobic.

Thanks, I'll give it a go.
yourhairiswinterfire · 15/10/2021 18:51

a well established and popular LGBT charity.

..who are being sued by a lesbian for alleged indirect discrimination and victimisation, and was also just days ago given permission by the court to pursue them for direct discrimination too. Who sent what was described by Judge Stout as 'a threat' to said lesbians chambers...

You give Saint Stonewall your money Margarita. With orgs dumping them like rats fleeing a sinking ship, they're gonna need it.

Artichokeleaves · 15/10/2021 19:04

Wow. So apparently homosexuality is incompatible with supporting trans people. Women having sex based rights is incompatible with supporting trans people.

There seems an awful lot of people and rights who can't have them any more or live their lives in peace or have equality and freedom from harassment, apparently all in the name of supporting trans people.

Doesn't this look to you about time for a very major re think? If you're saying rights are pie, then there needs to be fairer division of the slices.

To evidence that (some) TRA's regard gay men as being inherently transphobic, I present;

Woke Homophobia: Anti-Gay Hatred, Transcel Rage & Boxer Ceiling Abuse from Trans Activists & Gender-Identity Ideologues

MargaritaPie · 15/10/2021 21:19

There's certainly a bit of a witch hunt against Stonewall, all because they support trans people.

Artichokeleaves · 15/10/2021 21:26

I don't think anyone has a problem with supporting trans people.

It's when people start to state that supporting trans people is incompatible with supporting homosexual people. And a charity that set up for homosexual people starts to be actively homophobic until some of the original founders are so disturbed they leave and set up their own LGB charity and call it the LGBA, to support the homosexual people that the original charity now won't support.

But that's not allowed either.

Helleofabore · 15/10/2021 21:39

Nah. All because they started to control people language and thoughts and they overstepped boundaries.

Oh. And changed the very meaning of homosexuality which has caused lesbian and gay people to be persecuted.

Let’s not forget that. Should we post all the abuse from some trans people directed towards lesbians to refresh your memory margarita. Not once has it been addressed by stonewall. Not once.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 15/10/2021 23:21

No, just some long overdue investigative journalism and the government and other organisations realising they don't provide value for money or reliable advice.

Youve no answer to any of the earlier posts then?

Just come up with other random stuff…

And obvs…no
Waitwhat23 · 16/10/2021 00:09

Stonewall actively lie about the law and do not appear to have made any sort of statement to condemn anything to do with the 'cotton ceiling'. They were once a well regarded and respected organisation. They've torpedoed that reputation.

BoreOfWhabylon · 16/10/2021 11:43

Whenever I see MargaritaPie's username popping up, I am reminded of the late, great Margarita Pracatan and this song

TalkingtoLangClegintheDark · 17/10/2021 10:22

Thank you for that, Bore. A worthy tribute to a legend, indeed.

Rose1957 · 18/10/2021 01:40

Months later, still cannot figure out what the charges are exactly.

Rose1957 · 18/10/2021 01:49

What has transgender got to do with lesbian and gay or bi for that matter? Why not HT (heterosexual and trans community) Trans hung out with gays when they were in danger from straight men. Gay men gave them a haven. It is the only reason.They have absolutely nothing in common with the lesbian community. Transgender has nothing to do with sexual orientation. Stonewall UK prioritises transgender, their choice, but they should not claim to represent all lesbians or gays..they don't.
