lascapigliata8.wordpress.com/2021/08/28/nurses-request-that-health-and-nursing-organisations-withdraw-from-stonewalls-diversity-championship-scheme/

I've been lurking with increasing horror and fury on these topic pages recently, so was pleased to see this just appear on Twitter.

The tide is turning...slowly but surely

I think the Nurses organisations have been busy this week. The Royal Collage of Nursing has moved an annual conference on line after sexual harassment claims.

Babdoc · 28/08/2021 22:27

The nurses have a royal “collage”?! Wow - is it on the wall of their college?! Grin
Sorry, couldn’t resist. And yay, delighted to hear of yet more pushback against the destruction of women’s rights.

MrsOvertonsWindow · 28/08/2021 22:52

Good for them. The regulatory capture of so many medics is alarming.
Qualified HCPs having to pretend that they don't know the difference between men and women, offering unethical untested medicine and surgery to confused children and pandering to an aggressive anti women political lobby rather than centring patient care at all times.

Then to hear that their leaders argued for the demands of male born rapists and paedophile's to be prioritised over the safety and wellbeing of unwell women and girls by advocating that they be placed on women's hospital wards was the final straw. Vile.

You've misunderstood. It's a collage of nurses, made by a royal. I understand Harry was very proud of it and did it all by himself (except the bits requiring scissors, obvs).

donquixotedelamancha · 28/08/2021 23:31

The full article is very comprehensive and we'll argued. Does anyone know whether it's being put directly to organisations?

catzwhiskas · 29/08/2021 00:13

This is a really good document. Let’s hope that someone with power can turn the tide back. Congratulations to all those involved. I wonder if it will make it to their now online conference.

At last. I was horrified how easily the the caring professions swallowed the misogynist line.

Nachthex · 29/08/2021 07:28

That is a wonderful piece of writing, do clear and concise. Pulls no punches. Shows SW up for being the manipulative charlatans that they are.

YouSetTheTone · 29/08/2021 08:29

This is an excellent letter that summarises many of the consequences that Stonewall’s practices have on women (particularly vulnerable women). I might send this to my MP as a helpful summary.

Fleek · 29/08/2021 11:11

I just wanted to say how brilliant I thought this was, in case the authors on here. It's so clear and persuasive. Well done. You should be so proud

vivariumvivariumsvivaria · 29/08/2021 11:45

Wow

Thank you.

Flapjak · 29/08/2021 12:57

This is excellent. I hope other allied health professionals follow suit and make a similar statement. Its frightening how much influence stonewall have had and how they have deliberately misrepresented the equality act and pushing for removal of single sex spaces with no consultation with women or the services that may use this exemption ie rape crisis, refuges. They are a truly misogyynistic organisation in their aims and values

Jaysmith71 · 29/08/2021 13:03

What to do now if you're Stonewall and you see the tide going out?

Do you pivot and claim it was all a misunderstanding? Or bet the farm on an incoming LIb-Lab govt. restoring you?

Wow! Thank you to whoever wrote that.

BoreOfWhabylon · 29/08/2021 20:36

Well done LaScapigliata

This Times article clarifies what some of the massive red flags are around this individual:

MrsOvertonsWindow · 30/08/2021 09:08

Sorry - wrong thread

JustcameoutGC · 30/08/2021 09:35

Well done the nurses. They are the first professional body to stand up en masse and say this. All the other Colleges and regulators have been keeping their head down and passing the buck.

Blimey! What is he doing in that position anyway? Isn't he a bit tied-up to fully commit to that role? What % of nurses are women? You would think a woman would be at the helm of their union.

And yes that article by La Scapigliat is brilliant. So clear. Stonewall have so so much to answer for.

cariadlet · 30/08/2021 10:42

Excellent article. So comprehensive and well written. Thanks for sharing @BecauseOfTheRain

@MrsOvertonsWindow Wow! That article was pretty shocking.

Courage calls to courage....wonder which profession will be next?
