You're on the wrong thread hun Flowers
Canyrdogdothepussy · 22/08/2021 01:42

I love Glinner and his work. The man's a genius and the way he has stuck his neck out for women's right makes h a good yin , in my book .

I love him

Gumbomambo · 22/08/2021 02:16

I just like you Mr G. You make me laugh what with you being hilarious. As I type,Tony Orlando has just turned up on my playlist, normally I would be slightly embarrassed but I know you would tie a lavender, white and soft green ribbon around the old oak tree. Anyone that talks monkey business about you can quite frankly get to fuck, what with them being thick as fuck. I bet their mums would bloody put them to bed early.

He doesn't have to do this. As Americans say, he doesn't have skin in the game. He is just a fair and just human being.

I agree!
Mrsjamin · 22/08/2021 06:26

The IT crowd is my favourite of his by far, watched it so many times over. My favourite episode is friendface, the one where Jen pours coffee on a homeless person and when she buys pretty but uncomfortable shoes!

Mrsjamin · 22/08/2021 06:27

I realise I just listed three favourite episodes, you see, I can't choose!

PatsArrow · 22/08/2021 10:30

I have so many favourite IT Crowd episodes -

Bad Boys - The one where Miss and Roy bunk off work and Miss ends up shop lifting Grand Designs dvds....

The dinner party - Jen - "No! I can't have you nutjobs in my HOME!"

'Peter File'

😂

PatsArrow · 22/08/2021 10:30

*Moss

AlfonsoTheMango · 22/08/2021 11:24

Moss was the best thing about the IT Crowd.

Abhannmor · 22/08/2021 11:40

My favourite Glinner story is non fiction. Many moons ago there was a film which the Church condemned as blasphemous so of course Glinner and friends rushed to see it. As he left the cinema he was punched by a nun. Only in Ireland!

Abhannmor · 22/08/2021 11:40

Ps ...was it Last Temptation of Christ..I can't be sure?

absolutely deplore some of his other views on another (completely different) topic he speaks fairly frequently about

???

MargaritaPie · 22/08/2021 14:30

He was banned from Twitter for hateful conduct apparently.

He also publicly revealed the identity of the individual on his blog (I saw this article and can vouch for this) who apparently reported Marion Millar to the police which resulted in her being charged. Isn't that contempt of court?

Waitwhat23 · 22/08/2021 15:14

Do you mean the Scottish actor who dropped very heavy hints that he was the person who was persecuting Marion Miller for the dire 'crime' of ribbons tied to a fence? I believe that was an educated guess. But then we seem to be living in some sort of dystopian world where the Police have the time to investigate thoughtcrime but not, you know, actual crime.

'Hateful conduct' appears to have consisted of stating the fact that there are two sexes. The Marion Miller case means that belief is not protected in law. I believe Twitter have started to rescind their deletions of GC feminists as to do otherwise would be unlawful?

Waitwhat23 · 22/08/2021 15:15

Correct - Maya Forstater case.

Waitwhat23 · 22/08/2021 15:21

Second correction(!) - Is now protected in law

yourhairiswinterfire · 22/08/2021 15:35

They have.

Suspended Twitter users mentioned the Forstater judgement in their suspension appeals, told Twitter they were discriminating against them for their legally protected beliefs, and got reinstated 😊

AlfonsoTheMango · 22/08/2021 15:51

Hateful conduct includes a woman receiving a permanent ban from Twitter for misgendering Chris Chan.

So, yes. I am sceptical about Twitter's definition of "hateful conduct".

yourhairiswinterfire · 22/08/2021 15:54

So, yes. I am sceptical about Twitter's definition of "hateful conduct".

Correctly stating the law (that had just that very day been confirmed in the ONS court case) is also considered ''hateful conduct'' by Twitter Hmm

Waitwhat23 · 22/08/2021 16:04

And Marion Miller's case has now been rescheduled twice. This may be to do with the backlog of cases in the system at the moment as a result of COVID but it wouldn't be at all surprising if the case is just quietly dropped.

Kirkcaldy Police were publically ridiculed for investigating 'women won't wheesht' stickers on lampposts as a hate crime and dropped the case.

There's reports that 5 police were sent to harass women wearing 'no thank you' tshirts in Doctors bar in Edinburgh last night.

1984 isn't an instruction manual!
